Allright. I go to the Cubs game last night up in Milwaukee - the Cubs win. I catch a cold for my visit. :-x As a White Sox fan I should be staying away from them anyway. They make me sick!

The usual reason - a woman made me do it. A friend of mine, last week, talked me into going with a group Tues. night to the game. Then the day before something came up and she couldn't go. :?

I have a bet with her on who will finish better overall, Cubs or Sox. The bet is dinner at the winner's choice of restaurant. I'm not doing so good now, but the Cubs still have their June swoon ahead of them, and the Sox usually start slow. :)

Well, we women can sometimes be sneaky in such ways.
Hope you win your bet and insist on a nice huge steak dinner someplace nice! :D

Well, my team is sucking again this year.
I've been a Pittsburgh Pirate fan all my life.
I went to a game at Forbes Field (if anyone remembers it!) and many at Three Rivers. They won the Series in '60, (I was an infant) '71 and '79, I remember those two like it was yesterday.
I hope to get back to Pittsburgh this summer for a game in their new ballpark, it looks bee-yoo-ti-ful on TV.
Baseball is still Americas' past time as far as I'm concerned.

Ahhh the days of Pops Stargell, Dave Parker, Tom Candiotti, Kent Tekulve et al. I loved that Pirates team. It's the first World Series that I recall watching...Probably started my love of baseball! 8)

We are Family!! Yeh, I was caught up in it. Kinda embarrassing now
Yeah, Brinn, Pops was pretty cool. Stargells' stars... He died about a year ago, a couple days before his statue was to be unveiled. :(

I met Al Weis' kid at college in the mid '80s.

1969 is better known around here as the Cubs most famous crash and burn.

 Ah yes , All is right with the world. Red Sox are in first place, Bernie Williams is out with a knee injury, and Jose Contreras is just downright awful! Serves the Evil Empire right!

Looks like the Red Sox are having no trouble getting to Clemens. 5-0 Red Sox in the bottom of the 4th.

Clemens has trouble getting to 300. Couldn't do it against the Tigers. Next chance against the Cubs.

Next weekend at Wrigley. First series between the Yankees and Cubs since 1938. Don't try to get tickets though. I hear they are going for up to $1500 a seat.

8O Is seeing a game of baseball really worth paying that much money for a seat?
