You may not want to answer this but here goes...(Always a hopeful beginning!:)
Would you care to illuminate your readers, however slightly, as to why, for the first time, the Creator did not appear to presage the transition into the land in Runes?

Sorry, no. That would be the great-granddaddy of all spoilers.

What do Watcher's think about this?!
He/She who dies with the most toys wins! Wait a minute ... I can't die!!!
...Oh, this is much..my desk is starting to spin...The Creator opening up on a discussion..of who or what or to what significance and why,,is the Creator.?...
...What do we know about SRD's character so deigned " The Creator".?
SRD identifies him as the olde stinky dude inthe ochre robe. He seems to act as a " herald"..in a way, announcing what is to come. he comes out of nowhere, in the real world,,and after he has had his say..mysteriously disappears. And Linden makes it a point..more than once..that his presence is not this time around...creating a mystery...that SRD just deepened even more..
...Everything available says the Law of Time has been broken,,and the Law of Life and Death are broken. Lots to be healed here. I suspect, the Healer has some work to do on the Creator as well.
...Fascinating..just fascinating I find these websites. I was just over in the " Close" checking up on eveyones spirituality ,,engrossed in the Feminine thread. Then I came to this thread....
...If SRD intends to liberate all his characters by end of series( as is tradition,,see herberts " ChapterHouse" for example),,then yes inorder to liberate,,the Creator will have to be defined in terms of ,,who and what. so in a sense..to some degree..SRD will have to define his Creator..which he has been reluctant to do,,as per the few interviews i've gone thru.
...the question becomes..will the Creator be defined in literal terms,,as in , he is Joe Blow, 5'4" age 46, etc...or figurative terms..a mystic force,,a superior being,,a muse. Arrogance seems to be a oft repeated word in Runes..will it apply in the effort to define the Creator?..Dam, Stephen is aiming at the heart with this,,and some may get hurt.
...I'm wondering if Stephen is physically ok. I saw the thread about what if ..I couldn't even open it and still haven't. The ultimate in dark just may be ,",i've met my maker,,made my peace..care to be introduced?"...
...Anyway..The creator...as discussed in the CLOSE...creation appears to be a feminine attribute...you know..giving birth ,new life. Yet,,SRD,,doesn't actually call the olde stinky ochre robed the Creator. maybe a character spectualtes to that..so there may be some transgendermorphification coming at us as to ident of the creator. It could happen also...as in the GAP series...the story teller becomes part of the story..no better character to possess than the Creator...
...The Last Chronicles,,by that title,,is challenged to tidey everything up tho. Stephen has to answer to that,,and then possibly set it all free..so maybe the Creator,,is ,,,you and me....or..God bless Woodie Guthrie....MEL..ps..a bit more( thank the Creator for edit)..SRD did let possibly a bit out..a clue?..who knows?,,,when you go to the GI and see the actual answer ..take note, for what its worth..of the adjective he uses in descibing spolier...is that anything?..oh my creator!..an olde fart telling a child a bedtime story?...MEL
I have no idea if Jeremiah is the Creator. I said it mostly to generate discussion. But Covenant definitely isn't the Creator. I like the Lord Foul = Covenant theory better. Foul seems a better manifestation of Covenant than the Creator does.
I have to agree. My first thought when I read that on the GI was "What if the Creator's dead?" I initially thought of it in more of a James Blish/Black Easter way, but if TC were the Creator, that'd explain it.
Bit of a sod for Foul, if so. I can just imagine him, after finally destroying the Arch:
"After 10000 years I am free! And now, my enemy, I will....um...wonder what happened and look like a bit of a prat."
It could be that the fresh Creator of the Land has been destroyed, is dead, has been imprisoned by the Despisor or has abandoned the Land. I also don't think Jeremiah is the fresh Creator.
Somehow I don't think that "Guess what, the Creator and Thomas Covenant are one" qualifies as the great-granddaddy of all spoilers.
On the other hand, the old man appeared to Covenant in LFB when he chose him. Once TC was chosen, the old man did not need to reappear every time Covenant was summoned to the land.
In the second chronicles, he appeared to Linden and not Covenant, because Linden was chosen and Covenant did not need to be.
In the final chronicles, neither Linden nor Covenant needed to be chosen. So he would not appear to either of them. (Excluding for a minute the being dead part.)
I think what we really need to be asking is: to whom did the old man appear?

Good points; I think in this series, Jeremiah needs the help; linden was healed.

Jeremiah!
This may tie the fact that Jeremiah bult the arch of time in his bedroom or that he build Revelstone in the living room. The next question I have is WHEN did the Creator appear to Jeremiah? Maybe he has been in the land for a while (half in half out).
Maybe now that both "halves" are in the land he can seem more normal?
[spoiler]"...the loveliness of the Land has only grown more precious to me as my senses have been
opened...To turn homeward now would be to pass from treasure-berries to dust."
