Small Kitchen Appliances

Post by duchess of malfi »

What's your favorite small kitchen appliance, the one you wouldn't want to have to live without? The three I seem to use most of the time are my breadmaker, my George Foreman grill, and my veggie/rice steamer.
:D
Please note: I left out microwaves and toasters on purpose because so many people use them so heavily.

The George Foreman grill is so easy, if I don't feel like waiting for the coals to heat up in the smokey joe, it's the best way to grill. :)

My food processor is indespensible to me....but I use my bread machine and electric wok quite a lot too....and then there's the coffee maker. :)

Hehehe... Where would I be without my George Foreman grill? It's easy. And its fast. Two of the most important qualities in an appliance (imho). :D I also use my electric wok a lot, and I use my coffee maker (at night mostly, when I'm surfing the net :) ). I prefer to bake bread in the oven though.

coffee maker, coffee maker, coffee maker. Compared to the coffee maker, the rest are non- essential.

Toast n Wave... combo Microwave and Toaster
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.โ€

hehe LOL .. the emoticon sleuth ;)

i love my rice steamer .. its so convenient and makes perfect rice everytime .. no more playing the delicate balance absorption thing .. nope .. bung in the rice add water and go read a paper ;)

but i also like the bread-maker .. and our food processor was indispensable .. till it broke .. and now its just dispensable ..

somehow we have survived that loss ;)

i love cooking on gas .. so an electric wok would never be a fav .. wok cooking needs to be hot and fast!! and i have had no success with electric woks ..

i have an electric stove .. but i have to leave the wok on to get very hot before i can begin .. lol .. but it suffices ;)
