Albums

Post by Worm of Despite »

May not be an original thread--I don’t know . . . But what albums can you listen to all the way through or listen to huge chunks of? First thing, for me, that comes to mind is Abbey Road; I can listen to "Here Comes The Sun" and then every other song after it. Whole albums that come to mind are mostly Floyd's Wish You Were Here, Dark Side, The Wall . . . Imagine, by John Lennon--another album that comes to mind. *Thumbs through collection a bit more, no longer able to generate albums off the top of his head* Nirvana's In Utero, Zeppelin IV and Zeppelin I, most of Houses of the Holy, the whole first disc of Physical Graffiti . . . And on and on and on! Actually, that's where it ends for me. :?

I can listen to Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, The Beatles Revolver, Floyds Dark Side of the Moon all the way through with no problem.

I think I'll put Revolver on now while I'm thinking about it.

It's not queer--I wouldn't expect a girl of your age to be headbanging to Zeppelin anyway!

Right! 14 were the age for me. I made the jump from *cringes at saying this* The Offspring's Americana and Limp Bizkit's Significant Other *pant, pant* to my savior, Zeppelin IV. :Hail:

Their best work is Kashmir. And though it's my favorite song, I'm not being biased! It's Page's favorite as well!

I can listen to most albums right through cos i'm usually doing something else and just leave them in the background, but if I'm paying attention the best ones are:

Muse - Showbiz
Evanescence - Fallen
Alkaline Trio - From Here To Infirmary
Bloodhound Gang - Hooray for Boobies

I have an unusual taste in music :/

A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

all Cure albums except for the live ones and the singles
Smashing Pumpkins- Meloncholy and the Infinite Sadness(both cd's) as well as Pisces Iscariot
James- Laid
Radio Head- Ok Computer
Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon
Tori Amos- To Venus and Back and Under the Pink
Flogging Molly- Drunken Lullibies
Dido- No Angel
Moby- Play
Enya- Watermark

I knew I had a diverse collection but I never really saw how diverse till I put this list together. 8O I mostly listen in the car and the player we have in there now sucks chicken butt. So none of my recorded cd's or really scratched up ones will play. It has been ages since I heard half of these because of the accursed little machine.
