If anything, I'd liken the matrix with one of Kasreyn's creations... built with an intentional flaw in it (seeking perfection by allowing for imperfection).
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Great comparison, Caer Sylvanus :!: :wink:
Stone and Sea are deep in life,
two unalterable symbols of the world;
permanence at rest, and permanence in motion;
participants in the Power that remains.

I just watched the original again. The machines were using the electricity and heat generated by the humans plus a form of fission.

Aaaa, listen, maybe we just have to accept this. Suspend our disbelief, and all that. If we just allow that the AI could have figured out a fantastic way to harness us, we have this fantastic story. Our debates on various aspects of TCTC seem the same at times.
All lies and jest

And disregards the rest
