Crossroads

As I look to the future, and what lies before me,
I look to the past, and remember where I have been,
memories from the past...
Shadows down long corridors of time left alone,
the ageless passing of memories and thoughts sustained
by the unconscious willpower to let them fade into oblivion.
As the future is not yet here,
and the past has gone into the annals of time,
I stand at a crossroads in the crux of eternity,
as what has not yet happened is the future untold,
yet what has already happened can never be changed.
(though try as we might)
I guess my thought patterns will be developed
by the events that will shape my future,
but what of those patterns that already exist?
Will they be altered versions of an outcome
that none of us will know until the bitter end?
Or will they be from a new form of self-consciousness,
created wholly from the contemporary patterns not yet developed?
These random waves of thought echo through my mind
on a never ending cycle of doubt created by the constant
changing of the universal order, as seen by only those who
have the ability to peer through the charade into the master scheme
of a plan that is ever mutating to fit the future as it
is perceived in it's own mind's eye.
To have the past, present and future held together by
one strand of thought is more than most minds would dare
to contemplate, the natural order would then be upset,
for a paradox cannot exist (at least not in this timeframe).
As was then, and as is now, and yet, as what will be,
I will undoubtabley be still standing eternal at this
crossroads, a silent sentinel, watching...waiting,
to see how this will unfold, for whatever this may be.
Watching...
Waiting...
Eternal.

Wow. I don't think anything can be added.....
unless it is by you.
