All Alone

All Alone

The sound of laughter,
The euphoria of joy,
How hollow they must be
When she's all alone
The flow of tears,
The gloom of sadness,
How dreadful they must be,
When she's all alone
Black moods come upon her,
All emotions cut off from within,
How desperate she must be,
When she's all alone
The bottle of sleeping pills,
The gun under the bed,
How tempting they must be,
When she's all alone
No calls from friends,
No family to care for,
How awful it must be,
When she's all alone
None to stop her now,
No last minute respite,
How sad it really was,
When she was all alone.

Many of us can relate to this. It seems too personal and private to ask If this was someone you knew and loved.
Your writings literally open up a vein and pour out your soul.
Thanks for sharing these places in your heart.
It reminds me of SRD's poem, "My heart has rooms that sigh with dust...."
Perhaps he has had many of the same feelings, losses, and regrets as we.
"let the storm of thought spend itself. Presently you will arrive upon a calm sea."......Walter Lanyon

Ya know...I go back and read what I have written over the years, and it seems like I can never reopen that place inside of me where my ideas and writings have come from. It is hard for me to imagine what must have been going on in my life at the time that made me write some of these things. Yes, they are dark and foreboding, but not a direct reflection of myself, or my experiences.

I am just glad to have this forum to read all of the posts from fellow members, and to have the opportunity to share with my peers some of my humble attempts.
