Single Page Thread

Post by Revenant »

Is there a way, that I don't know of, to view a multi-page thread in a single-page format?

Is there such an option in your current phpBB code?

Hmm, I'd not thought about that before. Most BBs have a profile option for 'topics per page' and 'post per page', but phpBB doesn't. I probably didn't notice until now because I usually use the defaults anyway, heh.
In short: You cannot.

Ok.
I was wondering if there was such an option but had been disabled (or left disabled by default) at the admin level.

Sometimes also some boards will have a 'printer-friendly' format that put the thread in a single page.

Or was wondering if I could enter manually the start and end page in the address bar (e.g. &start=1&end=100, if '100' is last post, but don't know correct syntax).

I guess I need to check the phpBB Group site.

/edited: ok, been to the phpBB forums. The printer-friendly option isn't in the official version; there's a mod to implement it, but seems it needs further development :( .

I can set the posts per page and it's currently at 15. Is there a need to increase this? If so, to what?

For regular activity 15 posts/page is quite ok, no need to increase it.

Was just wondering if there was a way for the user to set for an unlimited post per page, to see as a single page some threads; can be usefull for offline reading, to have a quick global scope of long threads.
But it's not essential, and doesn't seem to be an option of the current official phpBB code.

Thank you anyway.

I'm starting to get impatient for them to release a list of the features that'll be included in phpBB3 (formerly phpBB2.2)...

It gets worse - on the new release there won't even be any mods, at least for a while - they've renamed it '3.0' because they broke backwards-compatibility. But a few of the features will be built-in anyway - sub-forums, for example.
