I have been trying to find a reference to the lifespan of giants.I think it exists somewhere?Anyone have any idea?
In LFB, Saltheart Foamfollower said he was born on board a ship during the Desolation following the Ritual of Desecration. Since the Desolation lasted a thousand years, it is safe to assume that Foamfollower was several hundred years old.
"This is the grace that has been given to you - to bear what must be borne."
Remind me - approximately how much time passed from the end of the Desolation to LFB?MrKABC wrote:In LFB, Saltheart Foamfollower said he was born on board a ship during the Desolation following the Ritual of Desecration. For me it suffices to say - older than the land as we "know" it - and younger than the bloodguards.
It brings to mind an interesting idea though - maybe a timeline of events and history for those who can't keep easy track of the myriad bits and pieces of the legends and histories of the land.

Few authors have conveyed so clearly the true meaning of the phrase "Unto Thine Own Self Be True."
Thank you Mr. Donaldson.

Foul tells Covenant at the very beginning of LFB that "The Staff of Law was lost by Kevin ten times a hundred years ago at the Ritual of Desecration".dlbpharmd wrote:Remind me - approximately how much time passed from the end of the Desolation to LFB?MrKABC wrote:In LFB, Saltheart Foamfollower said he was born on board a ship during the Desolation following the Ritual of Desecration. BraulioB read my mind
Spoiler
Yea it would be cool if Linden ran into a geriatric Pitchwife, that was the reasoning for my question, could any members of the search still be around?I guess 4,000 years or so is stretching it a bit though.
If you want to know the lifespan of giants, read The One Tree (which I am re-reading right now!). I'm pretty sure the giants talk about this just before or after Elemesnedene/The Elohim - they are discussing their children and some giants who disappeared in that place. Unfortunately, I can't remember off the top of my head.
