TC toy line?

Post by Sheol »

I was thinking about the "Don't touch me Tommy" doll and it mademe think of this. When LOTR was made into a movie they got toys didn't they. If they didn't I still think it would be funny to have a TC toy line. A little Mhoram with a staff and Krill plunged into Satinsfist. Be the first on your block to collect enough ur-viles to make a wedge. Start a Ranyhyn farm. Learn stone lore with Trell and start a small desicration. Protect a forest with Troy. I don't know if they would be any good, but hey. You guys got any ideas?

LOL! There's a sales pitch! Ranyhyn farm... heh.

In all seriousness, I don't think they'll make toys for this series (assuming, of course, they even make the movie), and if they do then they'll have missed the whole point. LOTR could be transformed into a kids' fantasy. TCTC cannot. I hate to think of this series becoming commercialized in that manner. It's degrading.

Would be pretty sweet to have an ur-vile wedge on my bookshelf, though. ;)

Would Covenant and Linden be anatomically correct?

I agree about the comercialized part; I don't want to see some misfits running around deeming themselves the biggest TC fan because they have all the toys. But I guess I don't have to worry about it at all because I wouldn't be part of their demographic. I am the reader fan and not the movie-goer fan and I guess I would resent the toys.

Well, after reading Runes, we obviously need the Tinker Toy "My Little Revelstone" Construction set :)

A Thomas Covenant plush doll probably wouldn't go over well. You pick it up and it says "Don't Touch Me!" You squeeze it and it says "Hellfire". Squeeze it again and it says "Hellfire and Bloody Damnation!"

However, a "Carve your own Staff of Law" set might be handy :)

Oh yeah, action figures would go over well. Especially if they did series like was done for The Matrix. Could you see:

- The "Covenant/Lena Rape Scene", complete with red soiled thighs

- The "Satansfist At War" action figures, complete with flashing green fist-held stone and stonedowner whose skull explodes.

- The "Lifeswallower" set, with action similar to the haunted bank that snatches a coin, but this one snatches a lord figurine under the water, then produces a bright blue flash.

- The "Sandgorgon/Bloodguard" set, complete with sandwall, fierce sandgorgon Nom (Oh God.. I said his name!), and Bloodguard that rides the sandgorgon's back and explodes on impact with the sandwall.

- The "Melenkurion Battle Scene" set. Elena figure bends at the waist to drink the Earthblood, then a Kevin figure pops up and crushes Elena with a powerful thrust of a mallet (single use toy - just like the Power of Command).

Just what every kid wants!

Oh, by the way, I'd buy every one of them!
Oh yes, I CAN hope... for an early release of the next TC book!

...and don't forget these favorites:

- The "Haven Farm" set, complete with pre-urinated studio in the woods, and burning barn.

- The "Ur-Vile Wedge" set, including a loremaster with a stave that has Real Spurting Action.

- The "Orcrest" - a revival of the Pet Rock, sure to be a big seller.

- The "Lomillialor Rod" - Who markets Lincoln Logs? I bet they have lots of stock that could be used.

- "The Ranyhyn" - which disassembles, and the bones fold up to make a bust of TC.

- The "Revelwood" set, complete with 1 pint of gasoline and book of matches to re-enact TPTP (Callindrill and Amorine figures not included).

- The "Saltheart Foamfollower" figure with digital sound. Push the button on his back and he laughs for 30 seconds. Push it again and he tells a story for 5 days.

- The "Illearth Stone", permanently impregnated with skunk urine, so it ruins everything near it.

There are unlimited possibilities!

Myste - thanks, though there is little to buy right now!

I'm having a blast with these. Here are a few for the DVD release of the movies:

- The "Lord Foul Punching Bag" - Each time you hit it, it laughs and gets a little smaller.

- The "Mhoram in Battle" action figure - push the button on his back and he swings his blue-glowing staff around his head.

- The "Vain" lack-of-action figure. Remove the peel-off paper on the sticky pads on his feet and place on your car's hood, just like a hood ornament. Stays there permanently, even through driving rain.

...and of course...

- The "Thomas Covenant Before and After" action figure. Push the hidden button on his right arm and his smile turns to a frown, and two fingers on his right hand fall off (small pieces - not for small children).

LOL....this is a great topic. :D

- Foul's Creche model, complete with thronehall, gate guardian and network of catacombs underneath. Jheherrin modeling clay and fiery mud pit sold separately.

- Drool action figure with Staff of Law. Try to take the Staff out of his hand and he says "Mine! Lord Drool's!"

- Gallows Howe model, complete with gallows, garrotted Raver and angry Forestal. Optional Hile Troy action figure that turns into Caer-Caveral.

- "Kasreyn's Peep Show": Featuring a model of the seduction chamber in the Sandhold with Chatelaine action figures who get it on. Optional Kasreyn action figure who sits in a balcony above and watches.

- Illearth Stone-warped creature modeling clay and molds that you can take apart and put together in new and exciting ways to create your own monstrosities.

So many demented possibilities.... :D

Or what about a Land Meal?

a cabernet sauvignon
