Let me know how those are -- I have Brahm's symphonies and his German Requiem, but haven't heard his solo piano stuff yet.

If you decide to try Mahler, I am very fond on his Fifth Symphony. I had some money left on my Borders Christmas gift card, so I picked up a couple of his other symphonies today. I will let you know how they are as soon as I get a chance to listen to them (this will be a very busy weekend, so it might take a few days).

As for Dvorak, I like his Ninth Symphony, usually called New World Symphony.

Today I also picked up some Naxos recordings of Haydn (piano sonatas, some symphonies, and some string quartets) and some violin stuff by a composer I have not heard of before, Hiroshi Ohguri. I love Naxos -- it lets me pick up new stuff by composers I do not know -- or more obscure stuff from composers I do know -- for an extremely low price.

Well, it came in today. It was 6 CDs in all, and I was expecting a clunky box, but it actually came in a very compact package (the CDs were in those little paper slipcases). Well, I'm listening to some of it now as I rip it to my harddrive. Ah, it's heavenly! I love it all, truly, but the slow, introspective stuff is beyond description. It resides in a different zone, for me; it's as if this piano I'm hearing knows me better than I know myself. Ah, what journeys I am going to have with this beautiful music!
