What was that saying?...

Post by Usivius »

In an act of laziness, not wishing to go thorugh my books again, can someone tell me the exact quote I am looking for?
There is a saying when Thomas say 'thank you' to others (such as Mhoram and Saltheart) and they say a reply like "The thanks is in the giving" or something like that.
Can anyone help he out witht he exact wording on this. I always thought it was a great line.
thanks

"You honour me."
"In accepting the gift, you honour the giver."

It's said in a few different ways in LFB and TIW, I think.

When TC goes to Revelwood, he is greeted by the Lorewardens. When they they offer him hospitality, Covenant replies "Your hospitality honors me." The Elder replied " I am Corimini the Eldest of the Loresraat. I speak for all the seekers of the lore, both Sword and Staff. The accepting of a gift returns honor to the giver. Be welcome.":Hail:
