Harvey Keitel as TC?

Post by paulcoz »

I couldn't find his name after searching, so apologies if this has been suggested by someone else.

Well? He's about the right age and could be sufficiently cranky.

EDIT: Also, he's a good actor and would look a bit like my impression of TC if he were to stumble around, unshaven in a dirty tee-shirt. They could easily give him the desperate / haggard look that's required.

Sure he's about 65, but the important things IMO are that they get someone who looks a bit like TC and someone who can portray his state of mind (someone who can act). Perhaps they could make him look a bit younger with makeup. :?

No... I think age is important here.. I think some of TC's attitude comes from his relative youth. You can't have a guy who looks like he's sixty acting like a self-pitying juvenile. It's kinda like having cast Alan Rickman as Snape in the HP movies... there's too much, "Sure he's a good Snape, BUT..."

Alan Rickman is Snape.

Snape = skinny, sallow

Alan Rickman = jowls, panuch, not so sallow (but what a perfect voice!)

Harvey Keitel is a terrific actor but scary scary, and way too inclined towards full frontal nudity. This might sound a little farfetched, but he could make a good Haruchai---think of him as the almost-Maori guy in The Piano. I think he could pull off the ageless expressionless tough guy really well.

Harvey is in no way within my visual spectrum of TC... yuck...
love him as an actor, but not while acting as TC
