Concerning; The Will of the Raynyhym

Post by lurch »

...I am haunted by the chapter, " The Will of The Raynyhym."..to this day, i am amazed at how many different levels it gets me . It goes from " hundreds of enemys" to a ultimate befriending,,from having a clear understanding of choice and consequences to a mystical experience we are left to understand later...from human characters being adamant in their decisions to being told and coherised by fantasic beasts. I found the chapter to be of one of the most surreal of the TC series,,right up there with the dance of the wraiths,etc.etc. The trust of the Ramen,,the acceptance by Stave,,the denile of Liand, the intro of the story of Elena's experience, the ride,,(how does one lull to sleep on top of a horse?,,that is at least trotting or cantoring?), the glen, the tarn, the circling horses, all and more,,,so much going on in that chapter, it just amazes me.
...And its ended,,leaving the reader with no choice but to keep reading for a narrative on exactly what went down while running with the beasts. Its almost hallucinigenic in description ...Our understanding of the Starred Horses is awakened to possibilties of all new levels. Our understanding of Linden is re-aligned to seeing the character as willing to go where there is no clear answer,,on trust alone...the " do something unexpected" fulfillment..SRD may refer to the same in the Grad Interv,,as " mystical synergy" between the reader and the author. There is " spiritual" tastes in this chapter and it does connect to free will..While physically hammered by the experience,,both Linden and Stave are ..." reborn"..??...in a way by the insistance of the Raynyhym...geez, i really like that chapter...MEL

I too was hoping..praying that the Horserite would have been more detailed. I wanted to participate myself!! Excellent writting. Excellent storytelling.

My favorite chapter was Scion of Stone...just as deep as your chapter, my heart was breaking for Anele!!
I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time
