I'm a Hovawart. It's German, and it's quite a handsome beast. I like those dogs; I just never knew what they were called.

Actually, the Rhodesian Ridgeback is from Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe). And its character is nowhere near as loyal or noble as they would have you believe. In fact, it's treacherous, unpredictable.. and specifically included in many countries' official lists of dangerous dogs.dennisrwood wrote:Rhodesian Ridgeback

If I had children, I wouldn't let them anywhere near a Ridgeback. No exceptions, under any circumstances.

Lappland Spitz
)
Beautiful critter, kind of like a black collie but more bulky. Wonder why I've never seen it at Westminster. (Which I missed this year.Today it is kept as a household companion and is used for security in the Swedish army.
Affectionate and loyal to its owners the Lappland Spitz tends to be suspicious toward strangers, making it a good watchdog but not necessarily a perfect domestic animal.
