If you are comparing American Beer to Canadian Berr...you must have only drank Americanised Canadian beer...they lower the Alcohol content so that it's the same as Yankee Brew.

Last time I was in St. Georges I had a few Canadian beers (I think it was Molson XXX).
I really have nothing aginst them.
And I like Heineken (That's Dutch beer, BTW) ;) precisely because it is not watery American beer.
