Okay ... coming into this a bit late (well, seventeen days late), I have to say that I was horrified! (which to me means it was a pretty good joke) I would have probably caught on if I read it on April 1st, but by now all thoughts of that day are long in the past - and I didn't notice the post dates until someone else in the thread mentioned it.

And it hit a spot for me that most others don't have. Steve DID receive a GI post about spoilers. He asked what I thought, and I said that I thought spoilers were handled as well as they could be but I'd pass it on to the Watch admin folk. So between that and the fact that I didn't read this until two weeks later, you even had ME hooked. (and it's 6:30 in the morning and I haven't had my coffee yet - not much of an excuse for falling for something I knew was an exaggeration or misunderstanding at best, but the only thing I can come up with at the moment < grin >)

Heh...sorry about that, Romeo. I should have changed the title of this topic as soon as April Fools was over, to avoid confusing people. That was my bad. I apologize for freaking you out, heh.

And yeah, most of us here were aware of the now infamous GI post about spoilers. That post was sort of the inspiration for this whole April Fools joke.

By the way, I apologize for sort of using your position as part of the joke (all of the references to SRD's webmaster). We made sure not to refer to you by name, so people wouldn't automatically assume you were the person in the fake e-mail that ordered us to appoint the new admin. But I'm sorry that we didn't let you in on the joke before hand, and get your approval. I can only blame my own laziness for not sending you an e-mail. So I apologize for that. I hope there are no hard feelings. Feel free to boss me around for whatever to make it up to you, heh.-jay
