Are there any books out that deal with The Land and TC?

Post by Ageless Stranger »

Hey everyone
Im new here, and I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not there are any books on the market that offer artwork, maps, quotes, etc about the Chronicles. Id also just like to say that it makes me so happy to see that there are so many other people who love these books like I do. Thanks in advance!

I own two books that have maps and artwork....

* The Atlas Of The Land - by Karen Wynn Fonstad ( its full of diagrams, maps, sketches a stuff and its officially authorized by SRD)

* Realms Of Fantasy - by Malcolm Edwards & Robert Holdstock ( Has a whole section on The Land - some of the illustrations you can see in the Album here on The Watch)

Well. Here's an SRD tidbit I found.
It seems he originally titled the first book Lord Foul's Servant.Interesting.

Hmmm... he also added a chapter - 'You cannot hope' now chapter 2, and changed the title of the last chapter from 'Victim' to 'Survived'

Strangely, I think that original map suits the Land a lot better than the one in the published books...

WOW! This is why I want to go to Kent State to see the original manuscript. Great link - thanks!!!!!

That IS the original map, isn't it?

Another book about the Land (if you haven't already found it) is Gilden Fire. That's a chapter taken out of The Illearth War which is written from the Haruchai's perspective (as they cross Grimmerdhore forest with Hyrim and Shetra on their way to Seareach).

There are also the Reed Stephens mystery novels (now reprinted under Donaldson's name, but I think those might only be available on amazon.uk). Brew (the main character) is almost as damaged as Covenant (sometimes moreso - physically, anyway), but the big difference is that Brew actually wants to be the hero. :-)

We just went over Gilden-Fire in Dissecting the Land and there, actually, is a Reed Stephens and other works (the short stories) forum here as well. Just not that many folks go 2 it... :?

The Atlas of the Land is pretty cool. Really helped me tie things/places together.

I need to scan my "home"(Earthroot) & add it to the album
