How would your personality disorder(s) manifest in the Land?

Post by Krilly »

This is a funny little idea I was brewing over earlier the other day. In the vein of SRD's idea of power originating from the mind/spirit/will instead of just bland faceless magic, imagine yourself summoned to the land.

Now, how would your personality reflect in your power?

Thomas has his wild magic, Linden has her health sense and attachment to Law, Troy with his vision, etc etc.

Basically everyone's character is reflected in their Land power.

What form would your gifts/flaws take? :goodnevil:

I would be the ultimate weilder of the power of procrastination.

Imagine if you will a wedge of 100 score ur-Viles about to inflict total ruin upon a nearby Woodhelvin.
I could focus my power upon the ur-Vile loremaster and they wouldn't do anything for weeks, or maybe years depending on my mood.

Those that followed the Oath of Peace would hold me in the highest regard.

:o

I would probably have the gift/curse of empathy. I would have to feel the emotions of everyone around me, which would really suck in the cases of the Ravers and Fouly-boy. :|

I would have the power of pissing people off.

This would be a good thing, because in my presence, my enemies would be incapable of rational thought.

And it would be a great test of adherence to the Oath of Peace. :)

My power would swing dramatically between being powerful and being weak, and also between being helpful and harmful. I'm very polarised

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

My wife would say I would have the "Gift of Gab", the Staff of Law would manifest my powers by talking Lord Foul into the ground ...

i'd snatch the ring off of Tommy's hand and...wait, you all told me that I wasn't allowed.

I would get pissed at all the war and head into one of the forests and live amongst the critters.

The Big Ugly. How would the land and all its inhabitants react to the Big Ugly?
On his way to town , with paper bag over his head, he is hit by a car because he forgot to punch two holes in the bag to see thru. He wakes in the Land. Lena passes out at just the site of him. Warts and nasal hair, one large piercing eye and one small half dead eye , the two never aligned, ears lobes drooping to shoulder adorned with small bunches of brittle stubby hair on top of moles, uneven lips swollen and busted from the cracked and gnarled nubs of ivory once called teeth, all dancing around hideous sculpture that only Picasso could see as to being a nose, all, all in the shadow of the malign growth of stupendous proportions adorning his back , his Hump.

..That such Ugliness , pure stomach wrenching wretchedness now accosts the Land , is of such foreign nature , many would come to know new dimensions to their existence. The Haruchai would quickly know how thin their Vow to the Lords was in comparison to the fidelity of Ugly. The ranyhym would offer me cab fare. The Kresh would tuck their tails and pee all over themselves, the ur-viles,,yes, even the blind ur-viles could smell the ugliness and be repulsed by its deep dank dimensions. They would need vast quantities of their own vitrim for restoration of their senses after crossing paths with me. The demondim would simply start digging holes back to where they came from apon one glimpse of this Grand gargoyle. “ man, you look like you was wupped by the Ugly Stone!” would be their chant!

..The Lords would be defenseless . No amount of lore of the land could exist to repulse such Ugly. Berek, Loric, Kevin, ha! Beyond their comprehension. The Giants , only the Giants would have the slitest chance of fathoming comprehension and at that, the tale would take them longer to tell than a life time, but what a tale. “ he was soooo Ugly,”, How Ugly was he Salt Heart Foamfollower?”,,” He was sooo Ugly that even Nom wouldn’t come!” The Elohim, would Have packed up their bags and left town six months ago. Their note reads, “ Any Land that allows such Ugly we don’t want any part of . You are on your own----E”

…The Ravers would be my Shitzu lap dogs. They’d do anything just to lick my acne scar’ed face.

..And then the final dust up between me and Lord Foullockers. He would screem like a girlie man,,, “ eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!” His despair , that which he is beholden, would shrivel and coward at the site of me. His despite when compared to my Ugly would be like comparing a stinky wisp of cigarette smoke to the sulfur belching stacks of the 4 Corners coal burning electric generation plant..His existence would quickly be perceived by himself to be that of happiness and joy in comparison to any body so maligned and tortured by the unfortunate mix of genes hideous. “ That s.o.b. Donaldson had all the mirrors in the Other story!!.” would be his last words as he boarded the cruise ship “ Love Boat” set for the Bahamas.

..And there,,at Lands Drop, there I would sculpt a bust of myself in the ancient granite of the Land, large enuf to be seen for leagues. It would be a reminder to all,,that no matter how bad, rough, difficult, excuse laden, sorry for you, your existence may be to you,,there is one person, who always has it worse…well, you asked……MEL

i have so many personality disorders... lol

Francophobia - upon being summoned to the land, i have a fear of vertical stripes of red whit e and blue, in that order, the people of the land start bathing every day, and shaving where they should be shaving, etc. etc.

Angoraphobia - i have the power to manifest coarse haired rabbit destroyers, avatars of unstoppable might, with teeth to rend the soul of those already dead - but only coarse haired rabbits

note: no, i dont actually fear rabbits, or the french

I would make everyone follow the LAw of the Land and make everyone tow the line....Wait isn't that what the Haruchai did. Darn, I thought I had something unique... Oh well, At least I see a little of myself in the books....

I'd be given a book to read containing the entire history of the Land and the world it exists in, including the Creation of the Arch of Time, the birth of the Wyrm, etc., and of course, what we know of as the Chrons of TC. Then I would be told that as soon as I stopped reading, that world would disappear...and that, when I reached the end of the book, the world would end entirely.

I would attempt to save the people from suffering by skipping over the bits with Lord Foul and the Sunbane in it, but that would only hasten me to the end of the book...I'd try to keep them alive longer by going back to the bits with LF and the Sunbane in them, only to watch them suffer and grieve...

The only way to keep that world and its people alive would be to keep reading....but the end would be inevitable.

Crap. It's already happened. Who's reading me? 8O

Your power seems to have manifested itself in the "real" world.
Arrghh!!
Make it stop!

I need the Silence of the Elohim to counter this.
Or maybe a Haruchai war chant: "It's a small world after all..."

I'll see you in the abyss Turiya...!!!!

I'm going to bring this topic back from the dead (like I just did to myself). I'm curious to see more responses.
