Hmm.. so you put the mayo on the meat, then stick the knife back in the jar and get meat juice in the jar. So now the meat juice rots in the mayo jar, and that's not very appetizing.
I'll stick to putting it on the bread, as a few possible bread crumbs in the mayo is not such a big deal.

Plus, it's just a lot easier to spread mayo on the bread. Not to mention the fact that in all actuality it doesn't matter since once you put the sandwich together, the condiment spreads to the meat/chees/tomato/other stuff anyway.

Unless you like your mayo on the outside of the sandwich? ;)

No, I put my mayo on the meat then put the knife in the sink to be washed.
You just keep re-using the knife until the mayo in the jar is gone?
How do you screw the top of the mayo jar back on every time after you're done with the knife?

Actually, I have one of those "Brush-In-Can" Mayo jars.
Kind of similar to how rubber cement is sold.

Makes it a heck of a lot easier. ;)

Low fat mayo is yucky.

I have tried and tried to like it.

Finally gave up. I don't use the mayo as much, but when I do, it's the good old regular Hellman's.

And I stick it on my bread!!

y'know, I said "on the bread" but i'm really not so sure. I don't generally use condiments on my sandwiches. But when I do....

On the bread, its much neater that way.

I've never even thought of putting it on the meat.

Hellman's is the mayo of choice in my household.

Definately on the bread....unless it's a preassembled sandwich...then it goes wherever I can get it in.
