Welcome to Kevin's Watch, High Lord Mhoram! I agree: Covenant's victories over Foul were always highlights (though like saddam hussein, I wish he could've been permanently removed!). :)
"Do you have a wife?"
"At one time."
"What happened to her?"
"She has been dead."
"How long ago did she die?"
"Two thousand years."

Those scenes are great, but my two favs are Lord Mhorams' victory, and when TC enters the banefire in Revelstone to destroy the master rukh while at the same time turning himself into an alloy of venom and wild magic. At the same time, there are two other scenes that stick in my mind. The caamora at coercri, and when the quest and giants were trapped in the swamp.

Hmm, it's really hard to choose, there are so many scenes. One of the scenes I would like to see happens in the real world. It's when Covenant wanders around his town and comes across a tent in which there is a religious gathering.

1. Any scene involving NOM.

2. Isle of the Elohim.

3. Scenes up to and including the
destruction of the master Ruhk.

Fav scene

One of my favorite scenes would be in the sandhold when TC comes back and says "Nom". I would pay money to see Kasreyn's expression.

O.K the big scenes are my favorite as well, especially anything with Giants and Nom, (in the dungeon under the Sandhold 'Stone and Sea Honinscrave bravely done' - fantastic )

There is a small scene in TPTP that I just love - TC and Foamfollower are trying to sneak into Foul Creche and TC trys to distract the big warped guard by just casually walking up, whistling and trying to look all nonchalent, it made me laugh out load.

I also would have to go with NOM. I meanpicture the scene the ghaddi with his eye thingy(real technical huh) getting ready to take over Covenant and the entire Search mad as fire at Linden, imagine the musical score and the anticipation of everyone when Covenant turns around and with a wild look utters "NOM". Imagine the look on Kaseryn's face. Man now that scene had me enthralled!!!!!!!!Writing at its best

actually it's the Kemper with the eye thingy, Kasreyn of the Gyre, not the Gaddhi - the latter is the spoiled-child-like monarch Rant Absolain

Brinn and Sivit: wonderful descriptions of that moment with Nom. I always thought that the appearance of Nom in the dungeon was one of the most exciting scenes in the book. Payback time! :x

I agree with "Nom" also. I held my breath when that happened! Fabulous! Either that scene or Lord Mhorhams Victory.

I thought the scene with resurrected Elena at the Colossus and the death of Triock was really great and one of my favorites.

Definitely when he goes beserk at the One Tree too.

I missed the poll, but as soon as I saw the thread title, my first thought was Lord Mhoram's victory. Then I thought of a hundred other scenes that could just as well have been favourites. But I'll stick with my first choice. The first time I read that scene, I was so exhausted emotionally by the end of it that I had to stop reading for a while to have a "break". It's been pretty much the same ever since.

Some of my favorite scenes are the most positive, optimistic scenes (in a work of much darkness and misery): When Covenant swims into Adelain upon his return to the land with the 2nd Chronicles; when Covenant and Linden actually have some happy romantic time together onboard ship in The One Tree; the community gatherings of the Stonehelven and Woodhelven in Lord Foul's Bane; the community gathering above Revelstone. Although "The Land" is in a since "fallen" with Lord Foul's presence, there are areas that are unspoiled to show us how good life could be there.

Wow. Tough to choose...would go with:

- the Caamora
- FF carrying Cov across the lava
- "Nom"
- everytime Vain attacked something (ouch)

My two Fav of the favs got to be:

2- the beginning, his leprosy, the changes he goes through, how the flashbacks are intertwined within the writing, amazaing

1- when we first experience the Sun of Pestilence...what it does to the Land I love...I literally cried...probably the most powerful emotive moment, the Trees! growing quickly and sickly, falling dying...

I do not see a poll on the Main Page. I have read every letter and there does not seem to be one. Do you have to go to the forums or somewhere else to see it? When I click on Home from any other page, that's where it should be, and I just don't see it.

I've learned in my many year at KW that it's usually better to find an old thread and revive/continue it than start a new one.
