Fisty and I actually have no firm plans at this time. :) We weren't sure who (if anyone other than me) was actually going to come, or what they might want to do. :)

We did have things we had talked about doing, like spending a day at Fist's mountain swimming hole (you guys might remember all the male shrinkage jokes due to the cold water there  ), but had not planned which day to do that yet.

Now that people's travel plans are getting firmer, they can chime in with their interests, and perhaps we can start making some plans. 8)

But if people would, indeed, like to see Spamalot, or a baseball game, how about if we start getting a head count, so I can try to order some tickets. :)

duchess's party =4 for Spamalot
=4 for Yankees on free cap night
=4 for Mets, if people want to do that

Brinn and I still have tentative plans for a day of poker up at Foxwoods on Sunday. That may be a good day for everyone else to make the swimming hole trip (I'm not much of a swimmer.)

AWESOME that you're going to make it, dlb! And doubly awesome, because it means your wife is doing well! :D

Nobody swims at the Blue Hole. It's too cold! 8O In all my years, I saw one person swimming. He was just casually swimming around, then sitting in the water in the shallow part, then swimming some more. Craziest thing I ever saw. But it's the health of the Earth, so worth jumping in a few times, and worth the 40 mile drive. There's a couple of rock ledges to jump off, only several feet high. And some people go with me just to be there, because it's gorgeous to look at. 18' deep the time we measured it, blue water so crystal clear you could see a quarter at the bottom.

The Blue Hole sounds gorgeous. It would be wonderful to go to Panera or a good grocery store with a deli, fill up the back of my Jeep with food, and head up there for a beautiful afternoon picnic. Natural beauty, good food, good friends, maybe crank up some Beethoven or Schubert in the Jeep's CD player...perfect afternoon. 8) 8) 8)

We went to see Spamalot two weeks ago (over Memorial Day weekend). It was fantastic! Great seats - second row center. Overpaid a lot for the tickets on one of the web sites, but it was worth every penny.

If you're going to see it, you should try to do so while it still has the original cast. I heard that Tim Curry's contract is up around Xmas, but he's trying to get it extended. They were all great - especially the woman who played The Lady of the Lake (a new part written for the show). Spamalot just won the Tony Award for best show, and she won the Tony for best supporting actor/actress.

I don't remember seeing the link to the show's web page in this thread, so here it is:

I'd love to! Has there been a date selected yet? Summer's pretty booked already, but I'll do my best to make it up. Just three hours on the train - a nice, easy ride. We're always looking for a reason for a NYC trip - Patty likes the shopping, and we've been collecting friends in the area that we like to visit with.

I haven't had a lot of time to read as many Watch posts as I'd like recently. Please drop me an email or PM when there's a date selected.

Romeo (or anyone else)
: kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6004
for more details :)

Remember, this is open to all Watch and/or Hangar members. 8)

And people -- please start giving me a head count for Spamalot. I am willing to order a block of tickets (if there's any still available) and let people repay me when we're all in NYC -- but I need to know how many to get (there's a limit of ten, rememebr -- so someone else might have to order a second bunch if more than ten want to go). :)

I'm definitely in for Spamalot, but for me it would have to be Saturday or Sunday night, and that might not work well for everyone else.

Head counts guys? Head counts? For Spamalot and/or baseball games?

The Yankees/White Sox game is Wednesday, August 10. Danlo, will you still be in town for that?

Like I said, I'm definitely in for Spamalot on Saturday or Sunday night. Don't worry, though if no one else wants to go those nights.

dlb -- my family and I are open to anything that weekend. But it would be good to hear from other people, too. It would suck if one person wanted to go but couldn't afford it or something. And then had to watch everyone else leave to go, and be left behind. Though I would be open to take up a collection or something if that would turn out to be the case. :)

get back with me when you know about the baseball , danlo! :) 8)

Anything mentioned so far is fine by me. :) duchess, if you buy tickets for anything, just let me know when we're going and how much $ I owe.

Well, before I order tickets I need to hear from people saying that yes, they want to come -- and a headcount of their party. For instance, I do not know if Syl will have Hellfire with him? :) Or how many people will be in the Furls group? :) Or if Earthy still wants to come along for the weekend? :)

And as for the baseball, we will need danlo's answer -- and I did not know how many (if any) of your three kids you might want to bring to the game? :)

Also, does anyone coming for the weekend, or later in the week, have an interest in modern art? I just saw in the Ann Arbor News that the Met will be putting on a huge Matisse exhibition while we will be in NYC. :D That might be cool. 8) I love his use of bright colors. 8)

I am also interested in the Met--if we go there you will meet my Mom as the Met is one of her favorite places in the world!

I know nothing about modern art, but it would be cool to say that I've been to the Met.

he is known for joyous figures pulsing with bright colors :D that one is one of his "jazz" paintings 8)

and danlo -- I would love to meet your mom. 8) as long as you think she can deal with me and my teenagers...
