The Pianist

Post by Nathan »

Got this on DVD for my dad for father's day and watched it yesterday.

It was amazing, one of the best films I've ever seen. It had everything. Fear, hope, despair, horror, hatred, love...

I can't believe I never saw this film before! If anyone hasn't seen it I suggest you go out of your way to do so, even going so far as to commit minor crimes. It's worth it.

I really liked the first 2/3rds, it got a tad boring (or I was really busy with other things) after that and I never finished it. I'll have to, one of these days.

I am sorry, but I couldn't bear this film. I think it was chiefly because I disliked the protagonist. I though the acting quite wooden and also the emotion was laid on with a trowel. I have found other fims far more moving with similar subject matter.
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.
