X&Y

Post by Nathan »

Just bought my second album ever, Coldplay's X&Y, (My first was Parachutes about 5 years ago) and it's bloody fantastic. They seem unable to produce anything that's not superb!

Anyone else like Coldplay?

Coldplay are a good band just a bit too over rated. I like X&Y but it is a bit sad and not much to dance to n stuff....

Coldplay is good, but not that good. I hear the new CD is not as good as their first two efforts. I have Parachutes, which is pretty good and I like the songs from Rush of Blood to the Head.

I agree they're over-rated. They're a good band, I suppose, but I can't stand them. Too whiny, plaintive, post-modern. Radiohead for teenage girls. *shrug*

Or, to quote Homer Simpson: "Booooriing."
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I feel a need to explain myself. Only in the past couple of years or so have I ever had the money to be able to buy anything (saturday job), and usually I'll spend it on something I want more than music, especially since music is freely available over the internet. There's also very little music that I enjoy enough to justify spending money on.

Any day, Duchess.

But that's just how I feel about the music. The people that listen to the music... well, we all make our own choices. Some of my best friends listen to country. ;)
