We were watching a movie tonight called Coyote Waits, based on the Tony Hillerman novel. It was filmed on location in New Mexico. :)

We were delighted and amazed to see one of the places Danlo took us up in the Jemez Mountains used as a location in the movie!!! :) :) :)

It is a place where you follow a little side road up...you end up where there are these little tunnels, alongside a steep drop with a river at the bottom. 8)

Brought back some very good memories of spending some great time with truly wonderful people. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I loved that spot! If we stayed another 2 minutes, at least one of your sons and I would have climbed down! :D

I was just reading the first ten pages of this thread. It's so interesting! Everyone was so excited, and everyone seems to have been so happy with how it happened, like it was some kind of magic. I really wish I had discovered this place a year sooner, and gotten to take part in this and get to know all of the older members while they were getting to know each other.
(older in terms of more posts, long time members. Not older in years. heheheh...)

I really hope there's another large scale elohimfest that I can be a part of...

It was a great time. :) I wish all of the people who went to Elohimfest could come to New York...and a bunch more (who either couldn't come to Albuquerque or who found the Watch since then) in addition. :D

Well, most of my elohimfest diary was eaten by the Hacker Attack on Ezboard. :x :x :x

Just in time for the one year anniversary. :x :x :x

I think I can recreate it from my written trip journal and my blog, and will be working on this the next few days. What I cannot recreate is the comments other festers made as I entered it the first time. So if anyone wants to jump in and add anything, please do!!! :D 8)

I have started the reconstruction. I hope some of the Elohimfest attendees will be willing to add their comments, on this, the one year anniversary weekend. ;)

I would especially value comments about the dinner, and about Mr. Donaldson. 8)

Again, this is located at:
p210.ezboard.com/fahirashangarfrm2.show ... D=52.topic

I have tried to contact all of the Festers. I hope you all drop in to say a few words. 8)

Tonight was a very quiet night at work, as they took the computer system down for maintainance for several hours. So we watched Beavis and Butthead Do America. :)

Brought back some good memories of going to the Grand Canyon with my family and Danlo and Damelon; and of going to the Petrified Forest and being hailed on with Danlo and my family.

I wish I could have been there, but there was this plane waiting to take me back to Canada. . . . Such is life.

Those places, along with Canyon de Chelly, were so heart-rendingly beautiful, I wish everyone could have come along. :hearts:

I keep seeing all sorts of footage about wild fires out west this year. They had a map on the weather channel a couple of hours ago that made most of Arizona and the southern half of New Mexico and parts of Colorado look like they were on fire. 8O 8O 8O We were so extremely lucky we had Elohimfest last year instead of this year! So what if we got rained, hailed, and snowed on on various days?   At least we didn't have to breathe in heavy smoke! 8)
