Blues Clues

Post by firelion »

Am I messed up or what-I like Blues Clues?I don't like Joe,but Steve was great,I started watching it when my oldest son was about 1.One day I realized that I actually looked forward to it comming on,and after a time I had my favorite episodes-and actually got excited if it was one I had never seen.In fact I must admit to watching it a few times while I was at home by myself.I am a 30 year old father of 2-and may regret giving out too much info,oh well my soul feels cleansed-Blue skidoo we can too....................................................

Steve RULED! Joe is a wanna-be. I love when Steve's learning the Birthday Candle Song from some kids! :haha:

Dunno if you guys know or not, but Steve put out a CD a while after he left the show. Not bad. Kind of coffeehouse-ish.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

There was a rummer going around that he shot himself..I guess it's not true!
Lets not be so hard on Joe, it was Steve's idea to leave, he didn't want to be pigeon-holed into 'That Blues Clues' guy and maybe end up lie Pee Wee Herman (Yeesh!). Both of the kids like Joe, but they do become exited when a Seve rerun comes on!

Slightly off-topic here, but it seems Blues Clues is not so poular with the Muslim population:

Yep, Steve was best. My daughter loves the show, but only Steve keeps her glued to the screen (Not sure if that's good or not, but...)
And, yah, Steven is a musician, and his 'natural' show-biz state is bald. In fact, in one episode where he returns to celebrate the 100th show, he is wearing a big top ha tthe enitre show to cover up his shaved head. :)

Mrs. Pepper turns me on.

Blues Clues is great.
Both my kids think that Blue's name is "Blue's Clues" and I'm not going to correct them.

There was some adjustment in my house when Joe took over.
Was it just me or did he (and still does) look huge, no matter how they try to scale it?

Still, it's a great show.
Dora's good too.

I saw Lazy town once and liked it alot, but its either on a time we don't view TV at or on a channel I can no longer find (damn cable and 300 channels of nothing!).
and you are absolutely right about scaling for Joe! But they have trimmed his eyebrows somewhat since he first came on, so that helps a little...
Another show I LOVE! is Peep and the Big Wide World. Hilarious, especially the episode where duck discovers a new smell around his pond and later realizes its a porcupine...
Big Comfy Couch is pretty good.
I love "Bubas" (spelling), those creepy, gumdrop things. The story time spots are hilarious... (those darn English...)

My son seems to go for Dora in the biggest way - Blues Clues is a poor substitute in his book. Can't say why.

I have to say, though, firelion - I definitely have my favorite shows that I watch with Jack. He's about to turn 3, so they're still fun. I don't think I can hang with any of that shit they program for the 'tweens and young adults - it's just stupid. I hope I don't have to see that for a long while yet.

My 4 yr old firmly believes that there are two Blues-that Joe has a Blue, and Steve has a Blue-I believe he realises the truth, but is afraid to admit it.
