Made shishkabobs today (I'm the grill king, lately). Sirloin beef cut into 1 inch (2 point something centimeters for you SI-types) cubes marinated in storebought garlic lime marinate with a splash of brandy thrown in, wedges of yellow peppers, pinapple chunks, pearl onions... and the crowning glory, pepperoncinis stuffed with feta cheese soaked in oil and spices (and the little bit of char from the grill really brings out the flavor... kind of like the crispy shell of a toasted marshmallow).
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I had leftover chicken. But I cut the chicken into cubes and had chilled fruit and chicken kabobs. Mmmmmm.......... I had German chocolate cake with coconut icing for dessert.

Kiwi and Hergrom had leftover alfredo noodles and turkey flavoured catfood. If you don't know by now, Kiwi is a pup, and Hergrom is my overly-active cat. (He's to big to be a kitten any more)

I'm making mini-pie for breakfast.

Way too cold and windy tonight for a barbecue (my hub and I just went out to look at the stars and we saw our breath), so we had our guests stay inside and we cooked inside. What we ended up having:
fresh fruit
green salad
potatoes and cheese
fettucini alfredo
Italian bread
corn on the cob
pork chops
cookies & cream pie

our guests seem pleased. :D
Love as thou wilt.

Last night I collected on my Cubs-Sox bet. Had a Salad, Kansas City Strip Steak, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Key Lime Pie. Very good. 8)

You have no idea how jealous I am of you all! I never have the time to make anything grand and there are hardly any decent restaurants in the vicinity. Everyone is eating better than I.

Hey, Kin, if you make it out to New Mexico next June, we will feed you like a king. ;) You would not believe what my husband can whip up in the tiny kitchen in our camper. :)
