Saw CSI:NY last night - I definitely like it better than Miami, if for no other reason than Sinise is just a great actor.

I tried to watch and liked what little I saw--Sinise taking photos of the halfdead woman--the way he talked to her was very cool--but my wife kept changing back to the Bachelor-so I got on the comp...

I've changed my mind, after seeing a few rather sucky episodes of Miami (with some truly terrible lines/delivery from/by Horatio). CSI Vegas is the far superior show.

CSI Vegas is my choice, CSI NY hasn't been released here, but what I have seen of CSI Miami I much prefer Vegas. Gary Sinise is a great actor, I look forward to seeing CSI NY.

ps. CSI Miami has actually started, but it is on a pay channel I don't have. :x

My fav is the original...though as a lab geek I do have issues with the way they present some of the testing. I have never found David Caruso a good actor in anything and therefore will not waste my time watching the Miami. I LOVE Gary Sinise but have not happened to see CSI: NY. If I remember correctly William Petersen had an issue with the series becoming a franchise which could end up being a point of contention when it is time to renew his contract. Marg Helgenberger is brilliant as a strong technical female lead that also has social skills. Being a technical female I find we get pigeonholed quite a bit and I like that she breaks the molds. Sarah is more like many of the femaile techies I know....we feel that we have something to prove.

Five insist on showing CSI:NY on saturday nights, so I've only managed to see the pilot (which was awfuly dark). I don't quite know how they do it, but when a show goes to Five its ratings plummet for no good reason (that I can see). Happened to Angel, happened to Robot Wars and with scheduling like this it'll probably hinder CSI:NY too.

Still following the series I'd say that this season is great so far, (we follow close behind here in Sweden), and Ecklie that was introduced in the previous season is one of the most annoying tv-characters ever, I just want to hit him when I see him, splitting the team and all that, and in the last episode he wanted to fire Sara! And now it's all on Grissom's shoulder, I'm just waiting for the BIG showdown...soo good!

I find C.S.I broing, stupid and really annoying. Just another bad crime programme. I have (more forced) to watch the series and they all seemed the same again and again.

Lately, I've been catching past episodes of the original CSI, and I've come to really like the show. Also watched an episode of CSI: Miami but haven't seen CSI: NY. I'm not that familiar with the castmembers yet, but they seem to play their parts well enough. I do recognize William Petersen from Manhunter (excellent movie). I didn't realize he's also a creative force on the show behind the camera.

At any rate, the personalities on the CSI team are of secondary interest to me. It's the process of forensic deduction itself that I find the most fascinating. Now if only reason and common sense would prevail in the real world, not just on a TV show.

I am always amazed by the lack of ligting on CSI Vegas. does anyone pay the electric bill there? I love Caruso and his line delivery. when the writing is good he can be poetic/hypnotizing.
