What about Vandy being 3-0??????

Well, once again the Vols show up with absolutely no plan to win the game. Randy Sanders deserves to be on the soup line Monday morning.

Bama and Ga had no trouble today, and didn't I see a big score by Auburn as well?

Yes!Go Vandy-I will pull for them out of pity  I have a feeling that Arkansas will have a castration this year, that is they are going to cut off a Nutt  I hear Mack Brown is as good as their coach next year.

I am amazed at Vandy's 3-0 record! WTG to them!

:::as long as it falls when they play UF:::

I am so glad the Gators pulled out the win. But Paul, my dh, credits the win to 'conditioning', meaning the Gators were more prepared to play in the Gator Town heat than the Vols. If the Vol D-line could have held up to the heat and not gotten exhausted, I think the game could have easily gone the other way.

Congrats Menolly!

I of course look at it differently - when the Vols cannot score as little as 17 points to win a game, then they're practically worthless.

I was proud of our defense, holding the Gators to just 1 TD and 3 FGs points was an impressive feat. The defense (especially the secondary) became exhausted simply because they were on the field for nearly the entire 2nd half.

Ah, so you feel the Vols offense didn't capitalize on opportunities, and turned the ball over too easily? Hmm... Perhaps our defense played better than I initially gave them credit for doing.

I'll humbly thank you for the congratulations on behalf of the Gators... ;)

Obviously it's a matter of perspective - but yeah, I feel this was the problem. Just think about all the passes over the top that our receivers couldn't bring in. Part of the problem is that Randy Sanders has absolutely no imagination for offense. Another part of the problem is that Fulmer dicked around with the quarterbacks all summer. But in the end, Florida outplayed and outcoached UT, and that's the way SEC football goes, isn't it?

I am uninformed regarding LSU. Where exactly in LA is LSU located? Is the team able to focus on the game with possible worries about family members in possible Katrina affected areas? Does anyone know?

And, is Rita going to lead to a possible game postponement?

Possible - the AD for UT has already put in an inquiry about Saturday night's game. If Rita heads towards LA, then it will most definitely be postponed.

LSU plays in Baton Rouge, slightly to the north east of NO.

In todays local Gator Town paper, there was an article about how the SEC teams coming to play LSU are handling hotel rooms that are curently filled with Katrina evacuees. UF's AD, Jeremy foley, has stated UF wil not ask any evacuee to leave their hotel refuge for the Gators.

I think his Assistant AD, Greg McGarity, is considering following UT's lead in this matter., i.e., fly the team in Saturday and fly them out after the game. He wants to see how traveling on game day affects how well UT plays before making his decision. But the paper didn't say what alternative he had if it proves to not be a beneficial move for UT.

It's not that long of a flight (direct, that is.) I don't think that game day travel will have a dramatic effect.

Ugh, ugh, ugh!

Well, UF pulled out another win, but that second half was pathetic. B"H, it was our second string for quite a bit of the time!

Oh Don, I am sorry.

UT/LSU is being played later in the week due to Rita though, right?

Yes, Monday night at 730pm (which is when I get off work, so I'll miss kickoff.)

Nothing to feel sorry for Menolly - this past week was my 10th Anniversary, and so with the exception of being called into my hospital early yesterday morning, the whole day was spent with her.
