I went to Disneyworld.

I read this on a bumper sticker driving down to Florida: "Jesus died for our sins so I'm getting my money's worth."
Maybe a little in bad taste but it still gave me a chuckle

One of life's joys was to have friends who gave you reality checks...who would call you on your crap before it rose so high you drowned in it. ~ David Brin, Earth

Disneyworld is a great place to vacation. :D

"I do not regret the things I've done, but those I did not do." (Rory Cochrane, Empire Records)

It is the happiest place on Earth after all. I drove down and got to some a few good arch sites I'd been meaning to see as well. I alos got to go to the Tampa Bays Bucs training camp. That was probably the best part.

I'm pretty sure its origins aren't that movie, but it was one of the best parts of it.

LF, the first time I heard it was from that movie. I agree that they probably got it from somewhere else! :) It was a cool part, though, wasn't it!

That was a very cool part! We've been having a very wet summer, and as I've been sitting here typing, I started hearing a weird creaking noise. I looked out the window just in time to see a huge oak tree come toppling down, roots and all in our neighbor's back yard and just miss their house. Did it ever make a huge sound when it landed! And it is all wrapped up in electrical and phone lines -- it bent them but didn't break them -- but I'm sure my phones and power will be out before the day is over....

so anyway....

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear the sound, did it really even fall?

If it were true, that old legend about appearing before a supreme judge and naming one's record, I would offer, with all my pride, not any act I committed, but the one thing I have never done on this earth: that I never sought an outside sanction. I would stand and say: I am Gail Wynand, the man who has committed every crime except the foremost one: that of ascribing futility to the wonderful fact of existence and seeking justification beyond myself. This is my pride: that now, thinking of the end, I do not cry like all the men of my age: but what was the use and the meaning? I was the use and meaning, I, Gail Wynand. That I lived and that I acted.
All lies and jest
