"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Not if you're in the right mood, which I wasn't.
The last thing I need when I'm at work and have a headache is to listen to a song whose sole lyrics consist of the immortal words
Shut the f*** up
Shut the f*** up
Shut the f*** up
Just shut the f*** up

I bought a cd of David Allen Coe's greatest hits. He's a country singer, an oddity for me to purchase as I have no other country cds. His best known song is You Never Even Called Me By My Name, but he also has a great version of Please Come To Boston.

He's got a couple of very good songs, and a few that stink.

I won't be ready to go to Country Thunder any time soon though.

I'm all about Breaking Benjamin right now. They are really good even if they do start to sound the same after a while. If you dl music, I reccommend Medicate, Skin, Polyamerous and most of all 'Home'.

Friday night I'm going to see the Counting Crows. John Mayer is opening for them. I know nothing about them but one of my co-workers says that he is pretty good. I picked up his cd Any Given Thursday, a live album of his, and am listening to it now.

I just downloaded a CD (Leitmotif , now normally I don't DL whole CDs, but since my soundcard is busted, it's kind of a waste of a disk if I don't)by a band called Dredg, and man... I haven't been this happy about finding a good band in a long, long time. Danlo, I think you'd really get a kick out of this album.

Also, I filled up some space on the rest of the disk with The Mars Volta. I'm digging it.
