Yup, that could be it, caamora. Despite the squeamishness we might feel with the way danlo put it, the Creator may have done that very thing.
Or, maybe the Creator made ALL humans from Covenant's Earth the wild magic, assuming that, from the many who would end up with white gold, at least one would be up to the task of saving the Land.

Kaos -
Does that mean we have another Immaculate Conception?
I love the idea!
Danlo,
rather than say the Creator gave TC leporsy, think rather that the Creator gave him the tools to be stubborn and resilient. After all, we all know the paradox of the white gold. It would stand to reason that the Creator would also know it and leporsy allows these tool to work. TC has to be sick in a healthy place; he has to be weak and have power; he has to be outcast and desired; he has to believe and not believe. So, as someone else said, it might not be too far-fetched! We all know that the best way is not always the easiest way. So, after writing this whole paragraph, the answer would be: Yes. The Creator did give TC leporsy!

Does that mean we have another Immaculate Conception?

Danlo,

The King has one more move.
Hello I ain't read all this thread just the title and I think the Land is real (Not real real but real in the sense of the book of course). First of all there is Covenants miraculous recovery from certain death at the end of TPTP then there is all that carry on with Joan being posessed and Lord Foul appearing in a flaming bush before Covenant is stabbed.

i know i posted already on this topic in answer to F&F .. and if i am not wrong i did so at length
but it seems to have entered that black abyss where odd happenings occur ..
i do not think i am losing my mind .. though the possibility does exist
mmm .. most perplexing .. indeed a quandery of a conundrum

forgive me (I know, the Haruchai don't forgive...) if this has been brought up already, but:
I am an avid pro-The_Land_is_Real person, but if so, what exactly makes Covenant reinjured every time he nears the end of his sojourn in the Land? What power or force provides with events so that he leaves the Land in the same state he entered?

It may have to do with the Law of Summoning.

mmm .. good question!! .. and validly it could be argued to support the Land aint real camp
but as it IS real .. we will have to examine this rather carefully ..
I think .. just off the top of my head .. that there is a natural order of things .. and TC clearly has been summoned from his world to another .. for a time .. determined by the summoner .. [on the extinguishment of the summoner the summons is also extinguished and the summonee must return to his natural state-in his own world]
er go .. all things must be returned .. or will by virtue of the law of summoning .. must be returned to their natural state on summoning ..
hence TC's injuries ..
ok .. i will really think about this more seriously and get back with an even more water tight theory on this on the morrow .. or the morrow after

Even MORE water tight? Could that be possible??

Face it, the easiest explanation - the only workable explanation - is that the Land is a dream. pthththththththth
It explains how Covenant could be the keystone to another reality.
It explains how the injuries just happen to happen immediately before his summoner dies. This would be a piece of cake to a being of immense power, like, for example, the Creator, to arrange. Of course, the Creator is the only being we are made aware of who could do it, and the only one who couldn't do it.
It explains how the emotional and psychological things Covenant needs most just happen to come his way as a result of this most unlikely situation.
(It should be noted that I care a lot more about arguing with Sky than I do about whether the Land is real or not.

I have never really cared whether the Land was real or dream. But, for argument's sake, I'll go with "real". In the first Chrons, I am led to believe that, yes, okay, this is Covenant's unconscious induced delusion while he's laying in the hospital or his living room floor.
But then, the second Chrons come along. And there's Linden. Linden not only talks to the Creator, be she goes to the Land with Covenant. She survives it and Covenant dies...at least he dies in the "real" world. Now, if the Land is Covenant's dream, would it not die with him? and how would Linden have the ring? and why would she have any memory of it? I suppose they could have "shared" the dream. But that seems unlikely. Of course, not anymore unlikely than the Land being "real". Oh Donaldson is GOOD...he's REAL good...

Although Covenant could have met Linden in the real world, and imagined her involvement in the Land.

Honestly, I don't care either. But, as my boss tells me, I like to argue. She's leaving for another position on Wednesday. At the party we threw for her the other day, I learned that she used to vent about me to her boss, as well as one of my coworkers!
