Little Willy

North side, east side
Little Willy, Willy wears the crown, he's the king around town
Dancing, glancing
Willy drives them silly with his star shoe shimmy shuffle down
Way past one, and feeling alright
'Cause with little Willy round they can last all night
Hey down, stay down, stay down down

'Cause little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Up town, down town
Little Willy, Willy drives them wild with his run-around style
Inside, outside
Willy sends them silly with his star-shine shimmy shuffle smile
Mama done chase Willy down through the hall
But laugh, Willy laugh, he don't care at all
Hey down, stay down, stay down, down

'Cause little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't

Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

I'll Fly Away

Some glad morning when this life is o'er,
I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

[Chorus]
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

When the shadows of this life have gone,
I'll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

[Chorus]
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Just a few more weary days and then,
I'll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

[Chorus]
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow

(In constant sorrow through his days)

I am a man of constant sorrow
I've seen trouble all my day.
I bid farewell to old Kentucky
The place where I was born and raised.
(The place where he was born and raised)

For six long years I've been in trouble
No pleasures here on earth I found
For in this world I'm bound to ramble
I have no friends to help me now.

[chorus] He has no friends to help him now

It's fare thee well my old lover
I never expect to see you again
For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad
Perhaps I'll die upon this train.

[chorus] Perhaps he'll die upon this train.

You can bury me in some deep valley
For many years where I may lay
Then you may learn to love another
While I am sleeping in my grave.

[chorus] While he is sleeping in his grave.

Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger
My face you'll never see no more.
But there is one promise that is given
I'll meet you on God's golden shore.

[chorus] He'll meet you on God's golden shore.

Catch The Wind

In the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainity I want to be

In the warm hold of your lovin' mind

To feel you all around me and to take your hand along the sand

Ah but I may as well try and catch the wind

When sundown pales the sky I want to hide a while behind your smile

And everywhere I'd look your eyes I'd find

For me to love you now would be the sweetest thing would make me sing

Ah but I may as well try and catch the wind

When rain has hung the leaves with tears I want you near to kill my fears

To help me to leave all my blues behind

For standing in your heart is where I want to be and long to be

Ah but I may as well try and catch the wind

Ah but I may as well try and catch the wind

Ah but I may as well try and catch the wind

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

  • In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

One evening as the sun went down
And the jungle fires were burning,
Down the track came a hobo hiking,
And he said, "Boys, I'm not turning
I'm headed for a land that's far away
    Besides the crystal fountains
So come with me, we'll go and see
    The Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,
    There's a land that's fair and bright,
Where the handouts grow on bushes
And you sleep out every night.
Where the boxcars all are empty
And the sun shines every day
And the birds and the bees
    And the cigarette trees
    The lemonade springs
    Where the bluebird sings
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
All the cops have wooden legs
And the bulldogs all have rubber teeth
And the hens lay soft-boiled eggs
The farmers' trees are full of fruit
And the barns are full of hay
    Oh I'm bound to go
    Where there ain't no snow
    Where the rain don't fall
    The winds don't blow
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
    You never change your socks
And the little streams of alcohol
    Come trickling down the rocks
The brakemen have to tip their hats
And the railway bulls are blind
    There's a lake of stew
    And of whiskey too
You can paddle all around it
    In a big canoe
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,
The jails are made of tin.
And you can walk right out again,
As soon as you are in.
    There ain't no short-handled shovels,
    No axes, saws nor picks,
    I'm bound to stay
    Where you sleep all day,
    Where they hung the jerk
    That invented work
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
    ....
I'll see you all this coming fall
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

Octopus: Syd Barrett

Trip to heave and ho, up, down, to and fro'
you have no word
trip, trip to a dream dragon
hide your wings in a ghost tower
sails cackling at every plate we break
was cracked by scattered needles
the little minute gong
coughs and clears his throat
madam you see before you stand
hey, ho, never be still
the old original favourite grand
grasshoppers green Herbarian band
and the tune they play is "In Us Confide"
so trip to heave and ho, up, down, to and fro'
you have no word
Please leave us here
close our eyes to the Octopus ride
Isn't it good to be lost in the wood
isn't it bad so quiet there, in the wood
meant even less to me than I thought
with a honey plough yellow prickly seeds
clover honey pots and mystic shining feed...
well, the madcap laughed at the man on the border
hey ho, huff the Talbot
Cheat! he cried shouting kangaroo
so true in their tree they cried

Please leave us here
close our eyes to the octopus ride!
The madcap laughed at the man on the border
hey ho, huff the Talbot
the winds they blew and the leaves did wag
they'll never put me in their bag
the seas will reed and always seep
so high you go, so low you creep
the wind it blows in tropical heat
the drones they throng on mossy seats
the squeaking door will always creek
two up, two down we'll never meet so merrily trip
forgo my side
Please leave us here
close our eyes to the Octopus ride

Drinking again,
thinking of when you loved me
having a few
and wishing that you were here.

Making the rounds...
buying a round for a total stranger
ju-uh-ust bein a fool
cause i keep hoping, hoping,
hoping you'll appear

Sure, I can borrow a smoke
i can sit here, all night, and
tell these jokers some jokes
but who wants to laugh,
who's gonna laugh at a broken heart
oh my heart is aching
and i swear, it's breaking and i'm

drink-ing-a-gain
thinking of when you loved me
and i'm tryin to get home
with nothing, nothing but a memory,
yes i'm trying to get home,
dying to get home,
but i got nothin but a bottle a beer
and just my
memories.....

rooftop in a thunderstorm row missing the point
syd barrett

With yellow, red and roomy food, and quivered
crouching on a golden cushion
undressed himself to disappear
through an infinity of pleasure
and smiled to free the running me
with "Am I my brother's keeper?"
his meek hand on devils gloves
shaping running blood.

The prophecy, to recreate the truth
in visions of a seasonal mood
in truth, the only sight he saw
lay hidden in the bathroom door
and spat on the rug
as high is high, so low is low
and that's the end of it.

i've never have heard this song, i just found the lyrics a month or so ago.

Rush - Vapor Trails

Stratospheric traces of our transitory flight
Trails of condensation held
In narrow paths of white
The sun is turning black
The world is turning gray
All the stars fade from the night
The oceans drain away

Horizon to horizon
Memory written on the wind
Fading away like an hourglass, grain by grain
Swept away like voices in a hurricane

In a vapor trail

Atmospheric phases make the transitory last
Vaporize the memories that freeze the fading past
Silence all the song birds
Stilled by the killing frost
Forests burn to ashes
Everything is lost

Washed away like footprints in the rain

In a vapor trail

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

on candystripe legs the spiderman comes
softly through the shadow of the evening sun
stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
looking for the victim shivering in bed
searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
suddenly!
a movement in the corner of the room!
and there is nothing i can do
when i realise with fright
that the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

quietly he laughs and shaking his head
creeps closer now
closer to the foot of the bed
and softer than shadow and quicker than flies
his arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
"be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
don't struggle like that or i will only love you more
for it's much too late to get away or turn on the light
the spiderman is having you for dinner tonight"

and i feel like i'm being eaten
by a thousand million shivering furry holes
and i know that in the morning i will wake up
in the shivering cold

and the spiderman is always hungry...
These aren't very happy lyrics, but they're so well written.
I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

i'm a little sad tonight. just found out my favorite musician idied on the 20th. Chris Whitley. you all know how much i listen to him. so...here's one of my favorites of his.

Wild Country

Breaking rocks all day on the avenue
its hard to unearth anything thats true
soon I am gonna loose these rags and run
Returning to the wild where I'm from

There's miles of stone, jack hammer in my hand
There's compromises, I cant comprehend
soon I am gonna drop this jack and run
Returning to the wild where I'm from
Returning to the wild where I'm from

Between the bricks you'll hear the children play
Their callouses get harder day by day
Between the cracks you'll notice where I've gone
Returning to the wild, where I belong

Soon I am gonna loose these rags and run
Returning to the wild, where I'm from
Returning to the wild, where I'm from
and angels sing thee to thy sleep...rest in peace, Chris.

Husker Du L
Hardly Getting Over It

Twenty years ago, saw a friend was walking by
And I stopped him on the street to ask him
How it went, and all he did was cry
I looked him in the face, but I couldn't see past his eyes
Asked him what the problem was, he says "Here is your disguise"

Now he's hardly getting over it
Hardly getting used to getting by

Old may lays down by the railroad tracks
Got no paper in his pocket, got no paper on his back
I asked him what the time was, he says "Hit the road now, Jack"
Went back to see him next week
He died of a heart attack and died away

Now he's hardly getting over it
Hardly getting used to getting by

Grandma, she got sick, she is going to die
And grandpa had a seizure, moved into a hotel cell and died away
My parents, they just wonder when they both are going to die
And what do I do when they die?

Now I'm hardly getting over it
Hardly getting used to getting by

I can't decide
I don't know
Which way to go?
The options multiply
The choices grow
Which way to go?
What should I buy?
What should I be?
Which way to go?

So much comes at you
Too much for me
Which way to go?

Fiction of the "Buy me," "Watch me," "Listen to me"

I can't decide
I'm so confused
Which way to go?
I'm being useful here
I'm being used
Which way to go?
Some line gets drawn
What line is this?
Which way to go?
Could be a threshold or a precipice
Which way to go?

Elusive dreams and vague desires
Fanned to fiery needs by sexy boys
In flaming T.V. fires

  • Twisted

    My analyst told me
That I was right out of my head
    The way he described it
He said I’d be better dead than live
I didn’t listen to his jive
    I knew all along
    That he was all wrong
And I knew that he thought
I was crazy but I’m not
    Oh no

    My analyst told me
That I was right out of my head
    He said I’d need treatment
But I’m not that easily led
He said I was the type
    That was most inclined
    When out of his sight
To be out of my mind
And he thought I was nuts
No more ifs or ands or buts

    They say as a child
I appeared a little bit wild
    With all my crazy ideas
But I knew what was happening
    I knew I was a genius...
What’s so strange when you know
That you’re a wizard at three
I knew that this was meant to be

    Now I heard little children
    Were supposed to sleep tight
That’s why I got into the vodka one night
    My parents got frantic
    Didn’t know what to do
But I saw some crazy scenes
    Before I came to
Now do you think I was crazy
I may have been only three
    But I was swinging

They all laugh at angry young men
    They all laugh at edison
    And also at einstein
So why should I feel sorry
    If they just couldn’t understand
    The idiomatic logic
That went on in my head
    I had a brain
    It was insane
Oh they used to laugh at me
    When I refused to ride
On all those double decker buses
All because there was no driver on the top

    My analyst told me
That I was right out of my head
    But I said dear doctor
I think that it’s you instead
Because I have got a thing
    That’s unique and new
    To prove it I’ll have
    The last laugh on you
    ’cause instead of one head
    I got two
And you know two heads are better than one.

You swooped down
Caught me in the middle
I wasn't looking
You've got me for now

I cursed and I swore
That never again
Then I look around
You've got me for now
You've got me for now

You bite my skin
And it feels good
We feel so close
And I can breathe
I used to run
As far as I could
And now I look around
You've got me for now
You've got me for now

Swooped down
Caught me in the middle
I wasn't looking
You've got me for now
I cursed and I swore
That never again
Then I look around
You don't have me now
You don't have me now

for my wife...

Lyrics:
O holy night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
O night divine
Oh, the night when Christ was born
O night divine
Oh, night
Oh night divine

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
With all within hearts we praise His holy name
Christ (Christ) is the Lord
Then ever, ever praise we

Noel
Noel
Oh night, o night divine
Noel
Noel
Oh night, o night divine
Noel
Noel
Ooh, ooh holy night

Psychobabble

Tell you ’bout a dream that I have every night
Tell you ’bout a dream that I have every night
It ain’t kodachrome and it isn’t black and white
Take me for a fool if you feel that’s right
Well I’m never on my own but there’s nobody in sight

I don’t know if I’m scared of the lightning
Trying to reach me
I can’t turn to the left or the right
I’m too scared to run and I’m too weak to fight
But I don’t care it’s all psychobabble rap to me

Tell you ’bout a dream that I have every night
It’s in dolby stereo but I never hear it right
Take me for a fool well that’s alright
Well I see the way to go but there isn’t any light

I don’t know why I’m scared of the lightning
Trying to reach me
Help me to find what I don’t wanna know
You’re taking me there but I don’t wanna go
I don’t care it’s all psychobabble rap to me
Psychobabble all psychobabble
Psychobabble all psychobabble
I don’t care it’s all psychobabble rap to me

You’re readin’ my mind you won’t look in my eyes
You say I do things that I don’t realise
But I don’t care it’s all psychobabble rap to me
Psychobabble all psychobabble
Psychobabble all psychobabble
You’re lighting a scene that’s faded to black
I threw it away cause I don’t want it back
But I don’t care it’s all psychbabble rap

Pm Dawn - Untitled LyricsAlbum: Dearest Christian: I'm So Very Sorry I Brought You Here. Love Dad
And columbus would sail across the end of the world
Almost admittedly i do this unto you
As columbus would sail across the end of the world
Almost admittedly i wish i were with you

And columbus would sail across the ends of the world
Me, i just couldn't find my way home

And she'd say to me, baby
"i hate you so much, why can't you go away, baby?
I wish you were here."

I get to curse the world with your good advise
I shoulda stayed a victim and let it surround you babe
I never concentrated and that's all right
See, it's the interruptions that always define you babe

And i say

If lovin' you is pleasing you
Nothing really matters
(nothing really matters when you don't)
If lovin' you is pleasing you
Nothing really matters
(nothing really matters when you don't)

Commonlaw connects me to vice
I shoulda been a witness just to terrify you babe
I can't be myself and still be liked
But, i can have devotion and crucify you babe,

So i say

If lovin' you is pleasing you
Nothing really matters
(nothing really matters when you don't)
If lovin' you is pleasing you
Nothing really matters
(nothing really matters when you don't)

And she'd say to me, baby
"i hate you so much, why can't you go away, baby?
I wish you were here."

I don't have the patience to be understanding
I become engaged when she reminds me
She can never please me even when she pleases me
Can i really love her?
If she reminds me...of her
She reminds me...of her
She reminds me...of her

When she's condescending
With her double standards
In her apathy i think she...?

And she'd say to me, baby
"i hate you so much, why can't you go away, baby?
I wish you never were"
And she say, she say to me baby
"i hate you so much, you're nothing to me,
Nothing to me baby. i wish you never were"

You never were, you never were
You never were, baby
You never were, i wish you never were
You never were, you never were
I never was...
