The Madwoman
Remember the mortal woman that Kastenessen fell in love with way back in the day when Findail was sent to force him to his Appointed duty? What if that mortal woman was Linden or Joan? More likely Linden since Esmer mentions that he serves her as he serves other powers. Since SRD is messing with time? Esmer might be Linden's grandson. Kind of a stretch but an interesting thread to ponder...
I agree that's a stretch. Linden would have needed to somehow end up permanently or semi-permanently in the far past without white gold or the Staff of Law, fall in love with a specific person among millions, and not break the Arch of Time. I don't see the story going that way. For one thing that would be practically removing Linden from the main plot, or at least having her do a detour of years of her time.
I think Esmer means what he says when he serves every power. For example I think he also serves Lord Foul, and if Esmer served only his relatives either Cail's parentage was a lot more interesting than we ever suspected or Kastenessen's lover was really the daughter of Linden and Lord Foul. Not too likely.

That would fall olang the same lines as Cov ending up being Berek...I doubt if SRD would do anything like that, because it would damage the arch of time.
Also, Joan died in the real world, thus she will die in the Land...and I doubt that Linden could fall in love with anyone but Covenant...and espescially not an Elohim.

Plus, it's the kind of cheesy time-travel crap you get on network television. I think SRD is way past that kind of cute "ha ha, surprised you!" stuff.drew wrote:That would fall olang the same lines as Cov ending up being Berek...I doubt if SRD would do anything like that, because it would damage the arch of time.

Hmmm. I haven't read it in a while so maybe there's no evidence for it, but I like the idea of it being the Mahdoubt. It would seem a bit less contrived than many of the other identities that've been suggested, since we pretty much know that Kastenessen is going to make some sort of appearance.
(Kastenessen IS the fiery one who possessed Anele, right?)

The fiery one is an insane lord kevin back from the dead, thats who is running the bloodguard at revelstone, who else would be so anti-eath power now, his biggest mistake after the Rit of des was making earthblood availableThe Somberlain wrote:Hmmm.
