It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

Just noticed this topic.

I've got there album and quite like it.
Some very good tracks on there.

I first heard them on Steve Lamacq's show about six months ago and they had a vitality that struck me immediately. They seem to be getting heralded as the new saviours of rock and I can see all the hype becoming a bit of a millstone (like another of my favourite bands, The Music. The new Oasis my arse).

The Monkeys aren't exactly ground breaking, but they take the kind of new urban poetry that's been made popular in the UK by the Kaiser Chiefs and set it to a heavier, and a bit livlier, rock sound. It's hard not to be taken in by their energy.

Coincidentally, being a Sheffield band, I think that I actually used to live in the "around here" referred to in When the Sun Goes Down. Not a nice part of town to put it mildly.

Heh, I really did used to live in the part of town they sing about. The building on the single sleeve is where the arrow is pointing and the red cross is where my house was!

I mustn't have been paying enough attention when it was on MTV2 - I thought When The Sun Goes Down was a Babyshambles track. Now that I know, it doesn't even sound that much like them.

Just downloaded two EPs... 5 songs total. Pretty good, do they have a full length album out?
