That's a tough one, as there are very few likable characters in the books. Vector is about the only character with any redeeming traits. It's always fun to be bad, so I choose Nick.

Lane Harbinger. Cool gal. I like the way she fell asleep on the microphone
 great one...

Although I am of the opposite gender, I would love to be Min Donner! She is just too darn cool. Like a space-opera version of Dartangion (sp) ... in his later days as a 'detective'... :D

Min is terribly cool!

Well, I've been using this name for about 10 years now... can't really see changing.

The question really is would ytou rather be a scumbag or a victim. There are few people who have principles who are not being trampled over constantly.

Dolph Ubikwe was in a good position, not too deep in the misery yet able and willing to do something about the crud flying about.

I was thinking Dolph too. He seems kinda badass too - always a good quality to have in the Gap universe.

True... But there are a lot of gray areas. That (for me, anyway) is a large part of what made it such a fascinating series.

(I think I remember what I posted here originally before "THE WIPE")

I'd be Morn, for the simple fact that, despite all the torture, trauma, pain & addiction, she pulled her sh!t together to make it all the way through. She saw the destruction of Holt Fasner - THAT's gotta be worth surviving Angus/Nick/Amnion for!

Yup! Needs a couple more 'nicks' here and there, but with such limited cheek space, it will suffice!

Another one I lost in the hack-repair :-x

The answer depends on whether you're asking who I'd choose to be, or who I'm most like.

If I were to choose, I think I'd jump genders and be Koina. I like her various qualities, and she doesn't do anything horrific or die. She has intelligence, articulacy (is that a word? ), courage, strength, weakness and moral resilience.

If the question is who I'm most like, the answer is less straightforward. I possess qualities (some of them questionable in value) of several characters. Among them: Angus' distrust and occasionally his hostility; Nick's combative streak; Hashi's (sometimes misguided) intellectual snobbery; Morn's capacity for despair; occasionally (judging from people's reactions when I don my "stern" demeanor) Warden's natural command.

But if I'm limited to one, the single character I think I'm most like is Nick, for better or worse.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

It's funny how everyone seems to hate Nick, yet everyone wants to BE him!
