you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?
~ alan bates, the mothman prophecies
i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

a straight edge for legends at
the fold - searching for our
lost cities of gold. burnt tar,
gravel pits. sixteen gears switch.

Wow Luci! Fantastic old stuff. Only met one or two folks here that know Gentle Gaint--primarily the Octopus album and haven't met anyone, until today, who has ever heard of The Strawbs. I'll have to Google the name of their CD I had for, about, 8 years, way back when-had a song on it called Lovely Lemon Lady, I think...
edit: (back) no it's called Lemon Pie off a 70s LP entitled Ghosts (I tried to put an image of the album up, but it distorted the page...

fall far and well Pilots!
Got my paws on a complete Beethoven symphony cycle as performed by John Gardiner conducting the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique. Just finished listening to the 1st Symphony and am now on the 2nd. So far, Gardiner and company are doing a fantastic job with the symphonies.
Lately, have also been listening enthusiastically to Kate Bush's new Aerial double CD. It's very seductive music to my ears. I'm ready to say this is her finest album ever. I've always admired her artistry, but had felt that most of her albums were uneven. Not so with Aerial: every track is compelling and gorgeous!
Also spinning a lot in my drive is Marilyn Manson's The Golden Age of Grotesque. Urgent and powerful stuff! Musically, this is the strongest Manson album I've yet heard.
