Fine, I'll say it. Cobain.
And not that anyone will know what the hell I'm talking about, but Josh Homme. The man has created more influential SR bands than you can shake a stick at, and his role in Kyuss alone will be influencing bands for the next 30 years.

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Lucimay, if you're digging QOTSA, I have a slew of other bands you'd most likely enjoy. First and foremost, you have to listen to Kyuss, especially Blues for the Red Sun and Beyond Sky Valley.

some of those high rollin years

gimme some long distance love
baby sent down from above

My God, he looks like an extra from Dawn of the Dead in that picture....

I had successfully forgotten The Mick until you resurrected him, Lucimay. Yep, he is definitely like the living dead: he just keeps coming back no matter what. If I recall correctly from the Resident Evil games, I believe decapitation is the closest thing to a permanent solution to the problem of undead rockers roaming the earth.
I kid.
Okay, so you'll never mistake me for a Rolling Stones fan. I can't dispute Jagger's rock god status, though. If nothing else, his longevity and that of his bandmates is astonishing and I commend them for it. But in terms of their actual music, I'm sorry, but the Stones just leave me underwhelmed.

I'd commend their longevity too--if it were a good thing. To me it's more a case of flogging a dead horse. Quit while you're ahead, I say. End at the top of your game, not as a circus freak. Just picture an alternate universe where all the Beatles are still alive and prancing about on stage, cranking out watered-down versions of their former glory. No, no, no, no.

having one of them in this universe doing that is bad enough.Lord Foul wrote: Just picture an alternate universe where all the Beatles are still alive and prancing about on stage, cranking out watered-down versions of their former glory. No, no, no, no.
It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.
I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

Yeah, not a big fan of Paul's recent touring. At least Ringo isn't going around doing drum solos! *gag* And the Anthology thing was great--loved the DVDs, the book--except when they nicked Lennon's demo tapes and made two formulaic songs out of 'em (although, I do enjoy "Real Love").Tazzman wrote:having one of them in this universe doing that is bad enough.Lord Foul wrote: Just picture an alternate universe where all the Beatles are still alive and prancing about on stage, cranking out watered-down versions of their former glory.
