Octavia Butler

I've read from a few different sources, Octavia Butler died over this last weekend in Seattle and she was 59.

I had always hoped Oprah would have embraced Octavia Butler's fiction, as she was one of the rare African-Americans writing in the sf genre. Alas, it never happened, and thus Butler didn't reach a much wider audience. :cry:
