More crossover madness

There was a big crossover thread in another forum, but this one is more specific, and there's a reason for me starting it.

I watched Firefly, beginning to end. Then I read the Gap, beginning to end. Now I'm re-watching Firefly.

And what do I keep finding myself imagining? A Firefly one-off special: The crew of Serenity versus Nick Succorso.

Maybe they find him drifting somewhere, bereft of a vessel of his own, and he charms/tricks his way aboard, settles in uneasily with the crew, then takes over with a bang (like

If you were going to cross-pollinate Gap characters/races/technologies/whatever, which would you swap around, and which other books/series etc would you put them in? And what do you see as the outcome?

I'm thinking of Nick around the time he scooted past Calm Horizons to get to Billingate. Frayed at the edges, but not broken yet.

You know what would be fun? (this may have been discussed as a "prequel" to the Gap series) Nick, while Mikka is still his main squeeze, gunning through the galaxy and ending up on LB427 just before Ripley and co land to kill the aliens!

In which universe? Heh. I like the idea of a Trek crossover just because the two universes are so different. Firefly, Farscape, B5, they could probably find a place to fit in. Not saying that wouldn't be interesting, but the culture clash of Gap/Trek would be something to see.

Just kidding. One of the Star Trek novels featured a "world ship", who's occupants' physics dictated that the ship itself was always at the center of the universe, and to travel they simply moved the universe.

Try doing it after going 5 days sleep... You'll be seeing the crew of Serenity fighting Nick Succorso... for real.


Seriously, I've done it, and you have trouble discerning one thing from another... Especially whilst reading/watching tv.

I haven't watched Futurama, but this particular novel predates it by several years. (It was one of the first "giant" Star Trek novels, Enterprise: The First Adventure by Vonda N. McIntyre)
