Close but not quite. The Season 4 cancellation mostly just altered the flow of the remaining arc. Had that not been a problem, it would've been pretty much the same, but flowed better. The telepaths would've been introduced in the final four of Season 4, and the Earth Civil war would've spilled into Season 5 a bit. So, instead of what seemed to be a full on stop, and a restart, would've been more smoothly blended. And of course Claudia Christian had to go and be big headed and held out too long on her contract, so they replaced her with Captain Cupcake, and sent Ivanova into deep space.Cail wrote:The B5 story arc got hosed with the cancellation in the 4th season. Yes, Crusade was a bummer of a cancellation. Even with the 13 episodes produced they could've been better if TNT hadn't caused all of the continuity glitches that no matter how you air them, you still have some, and the 3 scripts that were released after the cancellation for unfilmed episodes were fantastic.
Also, a major bummer was Tru Calling. Fox gave it a Season 2, filmed 6 episodes, and decided not to air them, but, instead to blend it with the OC and came up with Point Pleasant, which was horrible and only lasted 5 or 6 episodes. When they did finally get around to airing the 6 episodes of Season 2 Tru Calling, it was too late to reassemble the cast and start it back up again, plus since the 6th episode was a Christmas episode they only played 5. The arc had just gottento an incredible point, and the show could've really been great. And now ABC has their knockoff "Ghost Whisperer" starring Jennifer Love (Feed me, I'm anorexic) Hewitt.
Farscape really upset me at the time, but, they were able to finish the story up with Peace Keeper Wars, so I don't feel so ripped off, although 22 episodes, would've been better than 4 for a Season 5.
To behonest, cancelling Star Trek: Enterprise was a crime, when they did it. It should've been cancelled before Season 4 aired. But Season 4, when they gave it over to Manny Coto, it was really good, and some of the best of any of the new Star Trek Series. Manny Coto took the carp that B&B turned Star Trek into and returned it to a very good show. So, yea, cancel it after Season 3, but, not once Manny Coto got it back on track with Season 4.

Ooh, I remember watching Quark as kid, I too liked it alot, although I don't really remember what it was about, just remember it was a SciFi satire, and I remember there being twin blond women.

Yeah, Quark was the sci/fi satire. It didn't last very long, but it made me laugh.
Sin, that's interesting what you're saying about B5. I thought most of the plot issues were rushed into the 4th season because of the cancellation. That's also why I thought Claudia left. The show got cancelled, she made other plans, the show got picked back up, and she was stuck.
Or maybe I'm just taking her side 'cause she's a babe.

Nah, Season 5 was always meant to be how it was, except Claudia was meant to be in it. The cancellation meant he had to close up season 4 threads and not start Season 5 threads. If there was never a fear of cancellation, the season 4 threads wouldn't have ended quite so soon, they would've stretched for 2-4 episodes into Season 5 (So Sheridan would've probably been President by S5 Ep 4 or 5, rather than by S4 Ep21, and Byron and his groupies would've started arriving on the station by S4 ep 18 or 19, rather than S5 ep1, so basically the same exact thing, just paced differently.Cail wrote:Yeah, Quark was the sci/fi satire. Claudia wanted some episodes off for doing other things, and JMS couldn't put it in writing, but, had always written around things for actors when they wanted time off, and she (or her agent) demanded it in writing (even though he gave her a handshake), which JMS couldn't do for the money (IE: per episode breakdown) he was giving her, and she refused to sign, until it was too late.
