Yeah, y'all've got a much better chance of seeing me on Friday or Sunday than Saturday. And if I bring the wife, I've got a designated driver, so you'll get to see Cail in full force... :D

Then again, she thinks I'm nuts for spending as much time here as I do.....

i believe i'm going to be coming in on Thursday evening, will probably go home Tuesday morning...so either Friday or Sunday is good for me, Cail.
we ARE getting together Friday evening, aren't we? i've forgotten the agenda that Aliantha and Alynna mapped out...just remember that we're seeing Spamalot on Sat afternoon and dinner that evening...

when it gets closer to the date i'll pm you my cell phone number so you'll have a contact to at least one of us.

please please please do come...we'd love to meet your wife...besides, once she meets us she might think YOU are a little LESS crazy (comparatively speaking!!)

If any of you are flying into BWI, I live and work 10 minutes from there. I can take you to a kick-ass happy hour.

BWI is the Maryland airport. It's close to Baltimore, so probably none of you are flying in there. Shame too, 'cause it's a nightmare getting in and out of either Regan or Dulles.

Most of the people I know traveling to DC fly into either BWI or the Philly airport rather than either of the Washington airports. They claim it is cheaper and easier to get in and out that way. :) Also, may of them use the Amtrack to get out to the east coast. :)

I wish I could come out for the weekend, but it's not in the cards for this year. Someday, though, someday... 8)

Dulles isn't all that bad. I picked my mom up there once... she was standing outside near the passenger pick-up lane, and we were on our way home in no time.

BWI, on the other hand... I spent three hours looking for someone there last year, and I'd been to that one before. It's all the construction they're doing. Ghastly.

In short, no worries, dlb!

I liked BWI when I flew out of there (during my four years in Waldorf, MD, it was the best choice for us).

If I had a choice between National and Dulles, I'd pick National. Dulles seems to have better fares, but it's got that stupid shuttle system to get from the terminal to the gates. I can't help get steamed about how absolutely stupid it is every time I go through there (which I did yesterday - we're in Vail for spring break, so if anyone is out this way over the next week drop me a PM and we'll hook up). I don't know why I hate the ones at Dulles more than similar things (that take about the same amount of time) at other airports - like Denver's train shuttle. It's just one of those things, I guess. But we always try for National. It's a pretty nice airport, and it's quick to get into and out of - usually no eight mile walks from the gates to luggage claim, etc.
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

It was almost $250 more to fly into National on United.

People fly into Philly to avoid the DC airports?? Wow. I could see flying into Philly to avoid DC traffic. But then I'd stay in Philly.

I prefer National, too. It's closest to our house and it has its own Metro stop. BWI was okay until it got so dang popular -- now, good luck finding long-term parking (even with the new lots open). I'm with you, Romeo, re: Dulles -- I hate the "mobile lounges". It's like they're loading you into a boxcar.... But some folks like the boxcars and hate the little train at Denver's airport. I think the train at the Denver airport is kinda cute. Takes all kinds....

Pickups *are* reasonably quick at Dulles, though. I've had to go out there a few times over the past year, and I've never had a problem.

Erm, Supershuttle? I don't think we have that. We have Washington Flyer, which is about the same thing, I think -- just a different company.

Amtrak to DC is a good choice. The kids and I did a cross-country train trip a few years ago, and flew back; I much preferred the trip out, even when the a/c broke down in our car overnight. Amtrak treats its customers like people, and the airlines treat 'em like cattle.

OK, I screwed up and didn't get tickets to Spamalot, but I definately want to hook up with everyone while they're close by. Please, someone have a get-together at their home, or have dinner (preferably somewhere outside of DC) so I can meet the out-of-towners.
