For what it's worth, if the current situation had not occured and you had in fact come under attack as you claim, you can be sure I would have had nothing to do with it. I don't intend to be involved in any actual warfare for as long as I can avoid it. My actions behind the scenes I cannot be as certain of.
Brethren, you are attempting to use reason to persuade Malice to stop being Malicious. Such is not possible. His nature is Malice. We may as well attempt to persuade water to stop being wet. It cannot be done.
Thus far, Nephirthos' Malice has been directed at me, and I thank all for their support. Love has little strength in this world, and I do not expect to last much longer. At which point, his attentions will turn to another, and another, and another, until he has engulfed the world. Malice does not become satisfied at some point, and say, "Enough. I am satisfied." Even the aliens on the southern island, who we cannot even begin to address because of this "Divine" War, will be his strength when they become involved. Alas for the world.

I am the self-fulfilling prophecy. Give love, and you WILL receive love. Let your every answer, your every action and reaction, your every desire, be rooted in love.
and my attacks will keep coming and they will destroy you and weaken th rest. But just becuase I enjoy chaos and malice... doesn't mean I cannot reason. I have a proposition: I will call off the attack, my troops will return to my land and you will have reassurance taht I ill not attack but in return I get the whole of the north (everything above Ai-Lamentum and Ai-Argoth) and the reassurance that you will not attack me. This is all I really want, the north. If you don't accept then the attack can only go forth.
DEATH IS A PREFERABLE ALTERNATIVE TO COMMUNISM!
Are we to take the word of the personification of Malice? The North was yours. Some followers of mine began doing things that the Book of Love says NOT to do, and declared a crusade. It may be difficult for Chaos to understand followers who do not do as their god wishes, since Chaos, by definition, has no rules to break. (With the possible exception of Thou shalt make no rules.) Nevertheless, that is what happened to me. As it happened with Amplarx when some of his followers attacked Argothoth against his wishes. But, rather than allow me to order them back, or do away with them yourself and let that be an end to it, you organize an invasion. You come out of the North that you now claim is all you actually want, on the pretense of defending yourself with a preemptive strike against the weakest god of all.
-I am attempting to fight off Morgath as he takes over my followers.
-I have been doing little other than persuade 10,000 soldiers of the Northern Kingdom to NOT destroy me before you could do it.
-Birth defects have been afflicting my people for many turns now, and I had no idea why. I did not have the power to spend on finding the answer. We just learned it's because of you.
-One of my main followers left me to join you some time ago, and I had no power to spare in an attempt to talk him out of it.
And somehow, in the midst of all that, I actually managed to gain a whopping 12 followers!!
I will continue to not attack you. I will do my best to keep my people in Ai-Bhakti, as I have been doing all along, and see if I can keep them alive. And all others in our pantheon will watch as you march in and obliterate them, and me.
And then they will know what to expect from you. They will see how Nephirthos "reasons."

Toringian, God of War wrote:Argothoth, animating fallen men of war is a most greivous offense. They must rest in honor not skulking as creatures playing as men. They have no place in combat either. The crusade goes forth.
This is most unfortunate. Nephirthos will easily destroy the victor of this conflict. Toringian, Argothoth never raised a dead person unless that person requested it while still living. The undead Love, just as the living do. There are evil undead, just as there are evil living. But when 10,000 soldiers chased Avatar's people out of the North, surely a force that could give you all the fun you desire, you attack the undead without provocation. I believe you are a bigot. I would think there are enough who Love battle for you to attack, so both sides would be doing what they truly crave to be doing. Or perhaps you could fight those who are evil, and desire to destroy and conquer? The aliens who are still pouring into our world, unchallenged, and Morgath's followers spring to mind.AllFather Xar wrote:Elsewhere, Toringian's crusade marches against Argothoth; the Master of Time's power delays the army long enough for his undead to gather in Ai-Argoth and mount their defenses. A long and bloody battle ensues, but Toringian's crusade is unable to pierce Argothoth's defenses, and the numberless dead in the war swell Argothoth's ranks and power, just as war itself swells Toringian's power. Toringian's crusade, undefeated but daunted, settles around Ai-Argoth, preparing for a siege, while soldiers and common people alike pray to Argothoth for deliverance, not only as the Lord of the Undead, but also as the new King of the Dead.

You place your border as close to our cities as it could possibly be, so that you can attack us at short notice. You will not be given that chance.
You will not take away my land. The Desolation is off limits entirely to your power. You will not be given one foot of that place. If, however, you will refuse to call off this stupid war without some agreement of borders, this is the most that I could accept in the east:

And may I also point out that the northern areas in the west which you desire belong to that kindgom once under the rule of Avatar, and may not welcome your intrusion into their territory.

You are in no real position to argue with me, I hold all the cards now. I am offering to end the suffering and stop the war but I am not walking away empty handed.

I have redone it so it does not cross into your land. I am a fair God, at least. I want everything above that line. I can put the land to good use.

DEATH IS A PREFERABLE ALTERNATIVE TO COMMUNISM!
Brothers and Sisters,
As I said, being the god of Love, I did not - indeed, could not - attack Nephirthos. To my knowledge, no plan of attack ever existed. By my very nature, I have always "agreed" to his "terms." As I was just explaining to Avatar, I am always in cease-fire mode. If I am not attacked, I will always try to coexist in Loving ways. I had hoped that my non-aggressive imperative would be enough to spare me Nephirthos' ire. But, Malice is Malice. Malice means things like attacking for no reason. If he were not acting in Malicious ways, he would cease to exist.
For my part, I will certainly not throw stones at his warriors' backs if they return to the north. Nor will I ever do the impossible by going against my nature and invade his cities. But acting in these ways up until now has put me in the position I am in - the focus of his Malice. It is a surety that he will continue to attack and utterly destroy me, no matter what I do; no matter what he promises.
I do not know how to counsel any of you. If you do not attempt a cease-fire with him, you may, as you die, wonder if it would have worked. And if you do agree to his terms, he will immediately destroy your forces as they are removing their armor. Malice agreeing to terms of peace? Indeed!
I pray to AllFather Xar that you learn something of value from my death. I Love you all, and will be content if the lesson of my death leads you to choices that ensure your survival, even if I cannot imagine what those choices could be.

I don't think that's even possible in this game, especially when the differences in power between many of us are not that great. With the number of us around the same divine rank, we could easily match your strength if we chose to abandon our ideals and act outright in your harm. You do not have an absolute advantage here - any advantage you do have exists only on the current terms by which we meet your aggression.Queeaqueg wrote:You are in no real position to argue with me, I hold all the cards now.
And how, may I ask, can the god of Chaos and Malice put land to good use?
If I get that land, I plan to build a wall along it... to keep you all from invading me, like you planned when I had little power. With that land, I would have more farming plus the construction of more cities. If we reach an agreement, I get the land... we would never bother each other again. The wall will make sure of that.

I will defend Bhakti, because he is my ally, because he is right and because he is my friend.
I will fight 'till I went destroied.
No one will pass our defences, no one will walk in Ai-Bhakti !

Don't want to walk in that city...i'll destroy it though... unles we can have a deal. I have made a dal on the otherside but I was happy to co-operate with Maeror, we shall not atack each other. Which now means my whole army can move to the west for added fire power and defence
Unless of course you meet what I ask. I will not co-operate with the line. The line I have set will stay as it is. Take it or leave it. Please don't be fooled by Ai-Bhakti. Remember he is the God of Love which means he 'Loves' to lie...'Loves' to trick.....'Loves' to decieve.

These are my demands. Or if you really want to, we can continue fighting. Where there is war... there is chaos and more chaos means more power for me.

It is not up to me in any way. I never invaded you, Malice. I was not planning to, and did not intend to do so at any time in the future. Yet I am trapped in my city, on the brink of destruction. And now you say I can end all this by promising to not invade you??

Your "logic" is somewhat difficult to follow...
But sure, I agree to not do what I was never going to do anyway, never wanted to do, and am actually unable to do.
And now, I suppose, you will go back to your home in the north, where the god of Malice's people will become peaceful farmers. Hey, wait! They will be indistinguishable from my people! How will we tell them apart? I'll dress mine in blue, and you dress yours in red, 'k?
And, I'm sure, there will never be some random point in the future when, for some fabricated reason, you return, and actually destroy me.
Ah, I am sounding like the God of Sarcasm. You will, I trust, forgive me for not taking you at your word. Malice's credibility is a bit thin at the moment. I expect to die at your hand, no matter what I agree to. Likely within another turn or two. My only reason for discussing this is so my Divine Siblings have a clear picture of what you did, so they will not be fooled by your promises. You are stronger than any of us, and you got that way by acting the way you have acted. You are not going to become less Malicious, and become weaker in the process, because the weakest god promised not to invade you.
