You are fast, danlo.
You are fast, danlo.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I have exams etc until end of June, is it possible for me to do one of the later chapters during the summer?
If there are any still left.
If there are any still left.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

Heh, yeah, I think now is a good time for a Runes reading, while we all wait for FR. A year from now, we're all going to be FR crazy, so I don't think it'd work well. But this summer would be good for this, since it'll keep our minds off of FR, heh.
So yeah...I tought it would be fun to finally get involved with this, so I may do a chapter. The problem is, I don't think I'll be able to read the whole book as fast as you all.
What does doing a chapter require, anyway? Heh, sorry, but I'm a Dissection Newb. But what would be my responcibilities?
I may have to just do one of the early chapters, since I don't think I'd get very far, heh. Or maybe I could do one of the cooler, later chapters, and just read that chapter. That way I would have plenty of time to read just that one chapter, heh.
Anyway, danlo, I'll try to do promotion stuff for the Runes Dissection today if I can. Basically, I plan to:
1) Try to send out a mass e-mail to all members.
2) Put an announcement on kevinswatch.com.
3) Make an announcement in the announcements forum (you can do that if you want, danlo).
Just let me know if you want me to do anything else. I'd be glad to help.
So how do you do the sign up? First come, first serve? If a lot of people are interested, would it be more fair to wait a week, and give people a chance to see the announcement? I'm not sure how you've done it in the past, so I don't want to step on your toes. Maybe it would be a good idea to first see who is interested in participating, and then give out the chapters.
Anyway, I'll be glad to help promote/oversee this as much as I can. So just let me know how I can help.-jay

It's pretty easy Jay--look at a few done before (try Wayfriend's final chapt. in WGW). Basically write a book report on the Chapt-your criticisms-any insights you may have found, foreshadowing, that kind of stuff...I'll give you an early chapter--the much sought after Malice don't worry we'll help you!

[edit for idiocy]
I'm... considering contributing. I thought about asking for Find Me, but then decided I'd leave that to someone else. The one on my mind at the minute is Pt1 Ch3.

"the much sought after Malice"
Really? Was that chapter good? Heh, I don't remember anymore. I should go home and review Runes.
Although be warned, I may have a anti-Linden slant to my report.
I'll skim through the book and see if I can remember my favorite chapter, so I'll let you know if I want to change chapters at all. I seem to recall having a couple of favorites, but I can't recall what they were, heh.
For some reason my brain is calling me to do a chapter where Esmer beats the crap out of someone. Hehe.
Oh God, but definitely not any of the Time Travel episodes. Those killed me.
And not any of the scenes when Linden first got to the Land...those were boring.
And not the scenes after she got the Staff of Law, and was wandering around Revelstone...that wasn't too exciting.
Oh, and not the horse-right dealy. That was confusing...
And I thought the prologue was kinda boring too...
...
...
Is there anything left in the book???
Haha, just kidding (
). Malice will do for now. I seem to recall disliking the prologue the least out of all of the parts of Runes. Hehe.

Drew, Danlo's post to Jay may help you:
Have a look at some of the chapter leads from previous books, use them as a guide. It's pretty easy Jay--look at a few done before (try Wayfriend's final chapt. in WGW). Basically write a book report on the Chapt-your criticisms-any insight's you may have found, foreshadowing, that kind of stuff...I'll give you an early chapter--the much sought after Malice don't worry we'll help you!
