lol, yeah, i'm the "newbie". funny, as a fan of SRD for 22 yrs, and someone who read the Gap series as they were released back in the early 90's i still end up being called a newbie. :? anyway, it was Angus i was proposing Jackman to play, though when i posted that i didn't realize how tall Jackman is. (i read just today how he is 6'2"). considering how well he has done with the surly character of Woverine i figured he could handle the character, and i was thinking he could put on a few pounds, ala DeNiro in Raging Bull.

it is a shame Jack Black hasn't shown an ability to play a dead on serious role, because he is a physical match for the part. then again, maybe Angus could be his break out role. :D i mean, back when Caddyshack came out who thought Bill Murray would ever be a "serious" actor? (though after seeing "Razor's Edge" i saw the potential).

I think James Woods would make a great Holt, btw. Walken, maybe, but i see him being more effective in the role of Warden Dios.

Hey Peven - nice to see you here on my fave (to the point of obsession) topic! I did these pics a while ago on my "ideal Gap cast" - I had a bunch of 'seconds' in it, and I think Christopher Walken was my second choice as Holt, and Bruce Spence as The Bill. I also remember putting Daniel Radcliffe as second choice for Pup....

but the primo cast is...

Thanks Prebe - they kinda got lost in the middle of the topic somewhere! Thought I'd bump em forward again to 'inspire' any newbies to this topic! (and to push my case for Josh as Nick!! ehehehehe....)

some pretty good ideas there Elfgirl, but i just don't find Liam Neeson intimidating enough for Warden Dios. Nicholson WOULD be a hell of a fit for Holt though and O'Toole is an inspired choice to play Captain Vertigan. what do you think about a blond Keira Knightley to play Morn?

You'd certainly be in Lucimay's good books for suggesting Keira (I actually did do a version of the Nick/Morn/Angus pic with Keira instead of Tricia)

Actually, quite a few of the "Lost" cast could easily make the transition to the Gap (ie, Sawyer=Nick, Locke=Warden, Kate=Morn, Hurley=Orn, Sayid=Igensard, Ana Lucia=Mikka, Eko=Dolph)

But then wouldn't we just be watching Lost in space? ;)

Unless I read your post as soon as you made it, in which case it took me seven hours to come up with that gag. ;)

I've always thought Oliver Platt would make a decent angus.

Thanks Elf 8)

As soon as I thought about 'toad-like' actors this guy was the 1st that came to mind.

Now keep in mind that he isn't normally the 'bad guy' in films, but if he has any acting talent whatsoever he would be able to pull off Angus.

I remember seeing him in some film (don't ask me the name!) but if I recall rightly, he was pretty good - i don't think that being a total grot like Angus is beyond him! :D

I've been able to think up certain actors that seem fitting to me for the following 4 roles. Tell me what you guys think.

It's not as good as what elfgirl did but I love trying to think up people who might be well-cast for these characters.

Not bad! I think Brent Spiner as Hashi Lebwohl has been suggested before - I can certainly see it.
