I was reading around one of my favourite games of all time(like you do) and I read that some are thinking of making it into a film. So I have heard, Quiten Tarantino is a huge fan of both Half Life and Half Life 2(I wonder why? ) and 'apparently' said hat it would be interesting to make as a movie. Now we know movies based on successful games are not successful(accept Silent Hill and FF7:Advent Children).
I wonder if Half Life would make a good movie, it has the making(but that is what they said about Resident Evil).
Well, I know that HALO is being made into a movie, and DOOM has been on DVD for a while, so I don't think movies based on first-person shooters are impossible. Half-Life is definitely a cornerstone of the genre and would command quite an audience/cash flow. People would be interested in it, just to see if the transition from game to movie would flop or not.
It would be interesting to see how the filmmakers would get around the fact that Gordon Freeman never speaks. It would kick ass if Quentin made a movie out of it. He is definitely cut out for highly colorful, frenetic films. I think he could capture the quality of Half-Life--both the high intensity of its scripted sequences and the moments of humor.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
