Cassaday's art is exceptional. I've admired his work in Astonishing X-men. There is a very appealing competence in his approach, his characters are vivid, emotional. He is among the most talented artists working.
"If you can't tell the difference, what difference does it make?"
Oooh, ooh. I'm a huge fan of John Cassaday. His emoting is wonderful. Not many artists have the technical control to let you see a character think. And his line is beautiful -- that's the kind of line I admired so much in Paul Smith. AND his compositions are clever and occasionally beyond awesome.
I'm a big fan of Joss Whedon, so it's also neat to see his work carried by an exceptional artist. Lucky stiff.
our comic shop (that has closed down) had Steranko's history of comics volume II. (the oversized editions I & II are all that came out) so after admiring it on the wall for over a year I asked to look at it. thumbing through it I sighed and said, "I know it will be too much, but how much?" the clerk looked at me and said, cover price. I checked at least twice more and he assurred me that it was cover price. I payed the man and ran out of the store. I still read through it, I need to find volume I.
