Forever Knight

Post by Alynna Lis Eachann »

So I don't think anyone's posted anything about Forever Knight. Mid-90s Canadian cop drama with a vampire as the lead. Cheesy, but in a good way. Anyway, I had one of those "You know you've been watching too much (insert TV show of choice) when..." moments. The show was filmed up in Toronto, and when we went to visit, my only two tourist goals (aside from taking my mom up the CN Tower, as she'd never been) were to take pictures of the Coroner's Building sign that featured so often in Forever Knight, and to visit the Toronto Police musuem. Got the pictures, but it being Canada Day, the museum was closed all three days I was there. *sigh* I am such a geek. Should have asked mom to take a picture with me next to the sign, but I really hate having my picture taken, and she and my camera don't seem to get on well, for some reason.

Sort of rings a bell, but not in a "wow" way, more like a "for whom the bell tolls" way

Sorry, Alynna, but I'm a Canuck who avoids most Canadian tv shows like the plague (unless it's news, political satire or documentaries).

I tend to regard most Canadian attempts at TV dramas and such to be nothing more than crappy, low-budget versions of American shows. (Okay, American shows can be crappy too, but they sure look good!) :P

Alynna, what a good thread. Forever Knight less cheese than one might expect. Does anyone know for certain if there were two seasons or three seasons of this series, AFAIK originally shown on CBS in the Norht America. Reruns were shown on SciFi cable regularly until around 1999, and periodically they still run marathons of the series.

Clarification. This was a Canadian show in the sense that Andromeda and Mutant X are Canadian shows, since they were made in Canada.

BTW, to go with Alynna's avatar, I've seen LaCroix for President bumperstickers. LOL :D

There were three seasons of FK, but the third has yet to come out on DVD. Third season was the one with Lisa Ryder (from Andromeda) as Nick's new partner, Tracy Vetter.

Continuing the Nigel Bennett (played Master Vamp LaCroix on the series) theme. Did you know Nigel Bennett co-wrote with P.N. Elrod a series of vampire novels?

Yeah, I'd heard that. Never read them, though. I'm actually not into vampires all that much, other than this show. I'd love a LaCroix for President bumper sticker... but nobody'd get it. :P
