So, how would they do this; four movies, five? One?

Should there be a film for the Real Story?

I think it'd be best as a TV mini-series to go straight from TRS to TDAGD.
(the same thing they should do to the Chrons)

Thing with miniseries is they will sooooo skimp on the SPFX budget & make it look cheesy. Unless they can get the crew who do Battlestar Galactica to do the sets/ships etc, The Gap series wouldn't be good TV fodder. I wanna see it done as a big-screen (condensed into) three movies a la Lord of teh Rings/Star Wars/Alien/Terminator...

now, who's got the dosh to bankroll it?

I've thought about this more than what's probably healthy, but check this out for an ensemble cast:

Morn Hyland - Liv Tyler (a bit obvious, but I can't picture anyone else and I've tried)
Angus Thermopyle - Jack Black (he'd have to get in shape, but I reckon he could pull off the part nicely, he's just been type-cast)
Nick Succorso - Owen Wilson (not so obvious, but he could do quiet menace and he has the sort of smile that could potentially be called an "evil grin")
Min Donner - Stirling Gallacher (played Jennifer Taylor-Clark in the UK version of The Office - obviously not young any more but still fit, and can pull off authoritarian)
Warden Dios - Robert De Niro? (I usually picture him as one of those cartoonishly stocky police chief-types that are/were common in cartoons based on DC comics)
Hashi Lebwohl - Jeff Goldblum (he's too tall, yeah, but he can do the "brilliant, if a little eccentric" role easily)
Milos Taverner - Jason Alexander (I have to explain this?)
Dolph Ubikwe - Michael Clarke-Duncan (it screams obvious, I know, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing)

robo wrote:Yeah, and that's why I think Anthony Hopkins (though shorter than what I pictured) should play Warden. I'd love to see Hopkins and Kingsley together. Also, if you get Jodie Foster playing Min Donner you get a whole reprisal from Silence of the Lambs with Hopkins and Foster in a different (almost swapped) relationship.
But Jodie would definitely need to have dark hair.

The guy above is actor Giancarlo Giannini, but he's too old now, Probably Oliver Platt would be better:

Do you really think JF would do a Sci-Fi saga? Somehow I doubt it.

Hey Elfgirl, I looked at your choices, and they are excellent!!!

except I might not like the "porn guy" for Angus, I'd rather have Platt do it.

JOSH AS NICK IS BEYOND PERFECT!!!!

I mean the only good thing about Lost is JOSH HOLLOWAY!!!
