Deep dark depression
Excessive misery (Oh!)

If it ware-n't for bad luck
I'd have no luck at all (Oh!)

My Signature is from a Grandpa Jones song from Hee Haw
I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

  • Where oh where are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and I thought I'd found true love.
But you met another and PTHHP! you was gone.

You took out your false teeth, your wig and your glasses.
You were just scattered all over the place.
I wanted to kiss you and hug you so tightly.
I guess that I would have if I'd found your face.

I went to your house at three in the morning.
You had all them curlers and junk in your hair.
You would not have scared me and I'd not have run so,
If you had not looked like you'd wrestled a bear.

I told you my darlin' you looked like a gopher.
Made you so mad, you haven't spoke since.
But tell me my darling if you ain't got buck teeth.
How do you eat apples through a picket fence?

When I picked you up for our date last weekend.
You looked so pretty in your satin and lace.
But when I bent over and started to kiss you,
you popped a pimple all over my face!

"Junior's (Junior Samples) Used Car Sales," in which Samples would try to palm off a major 'clunker' and then hold up a sign to remind viewers that his phone number was "BR 549.") (Hee Haw tapes were later sold using the "800" number 1-800-BR54949; also, the future country music group BR5-49 adopted this as its name.)

The "Hee Haw Salutes" feature, in which that night's guest, or other celebrities and cast members, would mention his or her hometown and its population; the entire cast would then 'pop up' from the cornfield, shouting "SAA-LUTE!!"

we had tickets to see Buck Owens (with Connie Smith, Marty Stuart, Dwight Yaokum) Buck was sick so Ray Price stepped in. great show.

LOL! Found this thread while looking through the TV forum. LOVED the show when it was on! I stayed at my nana's a lot when I was a kid (used to run away to there when I was pissed at my folks <grin>), and that was a regular (along with The Waltons). Watched a few episodes lately. Great nostalgia. And I, too, still remember those songs. :-)
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

When I put the coffee on
the pot won't percolate.
Seems I'm always a dollar short
and always a-one day late.

Man, those women were beautiful. Being a teenager I typically had to sit and watch whatever show followed or else risk an "embarrassing" walk out of the room.

I have considered them the predecessors of Daisy Duke.
But I guess they all were influenced by Sadie Hawkins, eh?
